Barack Obama Losing His Voice on the Campaign Trail

Former President Barack Obama is back on the campaign trail for the 2018 midterm elections, but his voice is failing him.
“As you may hear, I’ve been doing a little campaigning but I’m a little out of shape, voice-wise,” he admitted at the beginning of a rally in Indiana Sunday afternoon. “I’m going to be a little bit hoarse and I hope you don’t mind.”

Obama scheduled seven campaign rallies across the country in the last two weeks, but his voice started to sound strained after completing four of them.

At a campaign event in Georgia on Saturday for Georgia Governor Stacy Abrams, supporters yelled at the former president that they could not hear him.

“You can’t hear me?” he asked. “Well, there’s only so much I can do because my voice is starting to go.”

He repeatedly tapped the mic to see if it was working correctly, and it was.

“You’ve just got to pay real close attention,” he concluded.

“We can’t hear you over here either!” another voice shouted.

The former president labored through his speech, repeatedly urging Georgia supporters to go to the ballot box and support Democrats running for office.

“Don’t boo, vote. Vote,” he croaked as the crowd cheered.

After hushing the crowd he continued, “I just want everybody to think about this because I’m definitely losing my voice.”
