Bernie is too old. Worse, he looks physically feeble. He is such a non-threat that Trump doesn't even have a nickname for him.
Spartacus, a member of my Stanford class (although I don't remember him from my advanced science and mathematics classes), is still too junior and uncontrollable. Note also that this isn't a Trump nickname; therefore, not perceived as a threat by Trump.
I'm going with Kamala Harris. Right gender, right skin color, already pushing herself (see Kavanaugh hearings and acting-AG kerfuffle). She's pleasing to the eye (especially compared to Hillary), but not so pleasing as to create jealousy with women voters (compared to, for example, Ivanka or Melania). Trump is letting her ride into the top seat before he brands her.
From a game theory prospective, the problem with Kamala is that she is too far away from Trump politically. She's giving up some votes to the middle ground. A perfect candidate would be just very slightly to the left of all Trump issues, not WAAAAAY left one a bunch of issues. Trump, of course, is very difficult to pin down, given that he flips about without a moment's notice. So maybe it's impossible to be "just slightly left" of him on anything.
