And yet those costs are never discussed. All we get is ideological "let them in you mean selfish people". No real honest conversation ever goes on about it.

Maybe taxes should be line itemized so people would see how much goes to everything. Military, illegals, etc....

Eliminating social services and benefits for illegals, combined with prosecution of employers is even cheaper than a wall.

What would the +800K social services employees in CA do for a living?!? THE HORRORS!!!! Seriously, this is an industry of make-work jobs that would easily put California in the Green financially.

Never gonna happen. Refer to Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy.

I'm guessing it has something to do with governments never giving back power once seized.

Eliminating social services and benefits for illegals,

CA citizens voted for exactly that in 1994. You know what happened.

I looked into this recently, and technically I believe many of these benefits are not designed for illegals, but enforcement of citizenship status is poor, so a lot of people who shouldn't be getting the benefits still do.

Some you really can't enforce. Police/Fire/Schools/Roads/etc... all open to anyone.

And would not prevent illegals coming over. E-Verify would, but somehow it is not made mandatory, perhaps because both parties (or their owners) are all for slave labor

Noncense: it's so easy to enforce it's not even funny.

You're asking government to exercise oversight and fiscal responsibility. Goood luck.
