Republicans Can’t Stop Attacking Poor People; It’s Just What They Do

There are few groups in America that Republicans love to attack more than the poor. In the minds of Republicans, anyone that isn’t wealthy is a lazy government moocher, and that’s why they want to destroy the welfare system. But these attacks are based on lies.

I tried listening to that Jazz. It was terrible, those talking heads are like "stupid propaganda". Zero facts and a whole bunch of poorly thought out opinions with frequent insults and fallacies.

Sorry man, that's just too stupid to listen to. That bold headed comrade should go work for North Korea, he doesn't understand basic economics and incentives.

They will always have their guns & God.

There are also some groups in America, mostly Commies, who love to attack hard working successful people. In the minds of Commies, anyone who is a lazy government moocher, is exploited, and that's why they want to destroy capitalism.

I can remember when being poor meant you had to accept a different lifestyle than people with money. But not any more. We all get a wide screen tv with streaming internet and a smart phone with unlimited data. Even if you live in low income housing, odds are you have central heat and air. (When I was a kid, you got a gas space heater in the living room and in the summer if you were smart you saved up and bought a window fan).

And I have the sneaky suspicion that, at least in Cali, when they speak of the “poor”, the underlying truth is “illegal” people.

We have forgotten that the constitution guarantees opportunity, not outcome. Having a home, healthcare, transportation or even food is not a “right”. Sorry, that is just the simple truth.

As long as poor people can vote, someone will be willing to promise them anything. And poor people will vote for whoever promises them the most.

And if they don't make it, it's someone else's fault. "I worked hard. I still did not get a living wage. I want more. I want more. How come they make millions. They cheated us. We are exploited. We want communism. Civil war. Attack the rich. Attack attack attack. Now."

Fucking losers.

Video proof ? This is an interesting request, coming from you.

But people want decent jobs and to work. And if you even watched and understood the video, you know that all the aid such as food stamps go to people with jobs.

This is probably as it should be - for the most part. But is there even a debate about possibly some people who can not work ?

I thought the best part of the video was informing the Boogers and TPBs of the world the unbiased history of welfare that there isn't any welfare anymore. THe ending part is just bringing up a debatable question.

So lets figure out how to have more decent jobs and not too many poor people. THen their candidates can't win.

The solution to more decent jobs is simple. Booger mentioned it. Take advantage of the opportunities offered to all by this country. If you don't, it's your fucking problem, please don't come whining to me. If you cannot work and need help, you deserve and will get help.
There will always be losers who deserve no help. The only help they deserve is getting their butt kicked.

I actually got to see a a get people of the Dole type program back in 1997 - the Clinton administration's "Welfare to Work" program. A county in SE Virginia had 249 people who had been collecting welfare, but had now come under the scope of "Welfare to Work." A local pork producer and others were willing to hire, but there was the issue of getting these folks transportation to work. I worked with the county and set up a shared ride program that used vehicles from the company I work for. Got everything set up and ready to go. But when I went in for my final meeting with the county official in charge of the program, she told me that all but 4 of the 249 people found jobs on their own, and would not need those jobs or transportation. I had thought the Welfare system had some abuse, but I was surprised at this level of it. I was also told the position that county official held would be eliminated.

That in itself is a worthless, virtual signalling platitude. If you and the rest of the Democrats really cared about decent jobs and wages for the poor, you would be in favor of closing the border. Instead, Democrats (and some Republicans) see the need to import poor people en mass that compete job wise with the locals and help depress wages. All done because so many Democrats see need a perpetual underclass to remain in power, and some Republican donors like the depressed wages.

Only Trump and a few Republican allies seems to be taking real action to help provide decent jobs and wages - closing the border to stop illegals from depressing wages, and bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US by use of tariffs. If you really believed that platitude "So lets figure out how to have more decent jobs and not too many poor people" then you would support Trump in these matters.

Let me correct that for you.
“Much of the Republican base are the working poor, who struggle and work and don’t make enough for a decent life. But they despise the poor who don’t work, including the disproportionate numbers of brown people who fall into that category.”

There’s always nuance to every situation. Best way of telling lies from truth is that the lies sound really easy and straight forward, painted in blacks and whites. The truth is always much harder to understand.

The solution to the working poor is:
1) a halt on uncontrolled immigration,
2)collective bargaining for better wages/benefits.

You’ve got to have both points or it all falls apart.

The problem is that neither party supports both things. In fact, both parties actively OPPOSE both points of this easy solution!
I wonder why that could be?

Let's attempt to salvage this garbage thread: 1) how are "Republicans" in general or specifically attacking the poor? 2) "welfare queen" is dead? Yet... our societal payments to all things welfare is higher than ever, and the result is 80% single black mothers and murder rates at 15 times the national average.

Trying to rationalize through this irrationality is impossible.

Not saying that R's are not just as full of shit as D's, but in this particular case their policies create better conditions for working poor, while D's create better conditions for mega-rich. Perhaps D's are more lenient to homeless than R's

The Obamaphone is one more, as is the national children’s insurance (duplicated by Obamacare but impossible to get rid of for political reasons.)

And how many states are there which don’t provide additional welfare services at taxpayer expense? Things like WIC and subsidized housing, free school lunches, and dozens of programs which target specific socio-ethnic groups.

It all adds up to a much larger tax bill in any state which supports a large population of indigent poor. Illinois, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, and California come to mind. And oddly enough, those state also have the highest tax rates.

Free shit ain’t free!

That sounds the same as Republicans except that you believe that if the stuff goes to the wealthy that it will somehow go to you LOL

There is no crime in voting for benefit, the crime here is the corrupting of the process to benefit only the wealthy.

The bad situation depicted graphically exposes the supply side fallacy and especially when you consider that the bottom percentiles are getting more population in their ranks while the top percentiles are becoming fewer.

Extending these trends you see that the inequality must result in either revolution or loss of freedom in society at large. History bears this out without any exceptions.

Revolution or uprising in our case has been quelled and we are well along the road to increased in enforcement and losses of freedom while the uprising is avoided for now by allowing the population access to cheap stuff at big box stores and fast food while propagandizing them 24/7 coast to coast everywhere they go.

But corporations already know that the differential in value for the work is short lived and so factories must constantly move on to find a new corrupt regime with a newly downtrodden people and an environment to toxify.

Those all-anesthetizing products and services are produced by a modern day definition of a slave labor class, especially in emerging nations like Somalia and Bangladesh, which is ignored largely because those middle class who have not yet been inhaled by the slippery slopes are lusting for max ROI on speculating in equities. (decency be damned)
