Mike Rowe: a handsome well mannered man who took a risk and pitched a TV show that was turned down by every major network, a show that takes place down in a sewer. For some reason, it was his dream to host a show down in the sewer and he did so for eight seasons in honor of the forgotten heroes.

The men and women who do the repair work, the plumbers, and electricians, and even the guys who have to do the degrading work no one else will do. We often think immigrants take these jobs that are unnecessarily regarded as degrading, the jobs no one else wants, but there is dignity in all work and I can attest to that. There is honor and even valor in providing a service that helps a person in need, that is how a society functions and I find these life affirming stories amusing and inspiring.
