The manufacturing industry posted net job gains of 284,000 over 2018, capping its best calendar year since 1997.

A priority for President Donald Trump, manufacturing saw marked hiring in December with an additional 32,000 jobs. Most of the gains occurred in blue-collar durable goods manufacturing, with growth in fabricated metals and computer and electronic products, the Labor Department said in its release. The definition of durable goods is items with a life expectancy of three years or more, such as automobiles, furniture and machinery.

Manufacturing added 207,000 jobs in 2017.

THe gain might have been a 20 year record. But the headline sounds like a Trumpian fantasy. Just like in 1984 - lies are good ? I'm guessing the 16 year record happened during the Obama years, considering it was in a downtrend from 1999 to 2009.

Why are Trump supporters so desperate to believe his Presidency is a good thing ? Oh yeah, becasue they voted for him. It's only human nature.

Another clear 9 year trend.

SEE!

SEE!

There was no such thing as 'manufacturing' until THE! PLENIPOTENTIARY! invented the industrial revolution!

AMERICA! was but a Bronze Age dystopia of warring factions, each living in caves and primitive lean-tos, scraping by on subsistence farming.

Musk's businesses are all heavily subsidized. So, thanks Taxpayer

Trump should get credit, because every Democrat swore in Fall 2016 a Trump Election would SLAUGHTER the Economy. The reverse happened.

Yup.

Doesn't matter how good of a job Trump does (and it has been very good), Democrats will give him zero credit just out of spite.

But they (Democrats and the press are the same party) discredit themselves daily by doing this. Why would anyone believe anything in the press now that we can all see how obviously rigged the press is to support globalization and the impoverishment of our middle class?

But Obama let China run a mock and we are paying for it now, Why do you think we have the housing bubble in Silicon Valley?

Now, the trade war is a bipartisan effort. Media seems to play this as Trump's sole war. And many people are believing it.

Just imagine for the moment, what would happened if Hillary won election...

….all trade agreement intact...more stuff from China...more homeless...more illegal immigrant unskilled workers...less job opening to fight for...lower salary for all...more money US spent for international programs just to impressed...every other house in US owned by foreigners...more US domestic companies forced to sell business to Chines...more taxes from those who still work to help for this who don't...exorbitant Obamacare costs...poorer middle class if still be existed, etc..

Ignore that the jobs created under Trump are full time jobs as opposed to part time Obama jobs. --- Just look at the chart and be mesmerized.
