This is not prefab apartments on your picture. Its call "modular."

Prefab apartments were build in millions on Russian technology, all over post war communist countries; entire East Europa, Russia and including Mongolia and China. All looks pretty much same whenever you go. We're very popular in 1960's, 1970's and 1980's.

True that only IKEA type furniture fit small apartments.

In the US, all modular built homes are by definition prefabs.
