Union demands 500M in raises, 800M in new hires.

Saw the conference today summarized for what LA Teachers union is asking for.

They are asking for 500M in raises
They are asking for 800M in new staff

Budget only has 30-90M in total, so their demands can't be met. And if they get it, I guarantee you that all the money will go into pension funds that are so expensive and underfunded, that it'll take billions to make them into positive territory. Large scale union theft from the taxpayers.

Instead of dictating like Trump the will probably negotiate and settle for less.

They just want the millions to stuff pension funds. They don't give a damn about anything else.
Funniest part is they vote for Democrats, Democrats take all the money and spend it on trains instead of schools. And these dumbasses yet again vote for Democrats and expect a different outcome. Can't make up this stupidity, this is real.

The quasi educational cum glorified welfare and baby sitting/Great Socialist Paradise Indoctrination Services are on station identification, as Public Union extortion activities take precedence to further shake down the taxpayers.

The schools in LA are nothing but glorified day care centers anyway. I say shut them down. All of them.

Republican union members always vote against pay raises.

Huh? Aren't they going on strike causing pain and suffering to hundreds of thousands of families (mostly poor families) in LA?

Just repeal Prop 13 and you’ll have the money.

Make shit fair.

Shit is going to make everyone lose their homes so that unions can get every single thing they want at our expense. Hell no!
This is exactly how prop 13 tax revolt happened, taxes were killing people here, because unions wanted better benefits. To them it's just a matter of protesting and getting what they want.

Some cowardly politician will give them what they want, without voter approval, and just kick the can down the road. Even vampires know when to leave a couple of quarts when they want to perpetuate the victim, but not the California LibbyFucks.

How do you feel about the president partially shutting down the government to get his way?

And tell me how do you feel about teachers partially shutting down the public education system to get their way?

Democrats are ok with one of these but not the other.

I was going to say. My sister took her kids out of LAUSD because of how crappy they are.

More than Half the students can’t pass the reading and math standardized test.

ESL students outnumber “regular” students.

Why would anyone give them more money?
