Try using the www.calwater.com site with Google blocked by Little Snitch.

You can't pay your garbage bill in the Bay Area either, unless you give all of that information to Google. Try going to http://www.recology.com with Google blocked.

You also cannot report an "anonymous" tip to the FBI, unless you agree to also give that information, and your IP address, to Google, via the Captcha on the FBI site.

You cannot get health insurance through the government exchanges unless you agree to give all your personal information to Google the same way.

You cannot file for unemployment in California, unless you agree to give all your personal information to Google.

Google grabs this information by getting websites to be dependent on Google for services like Captchas, or by getting websites to include Google Analytics javascript links. Once a site has included a javascript link from Google, then it's game over. That javascript can read everything on the page and report it back to Google.

There really ought to be a law prohibiting Google from spying on essential services, especially government services, but don't bet on it. Google is one of the biggest bribers of congressmen lobbyists in DC, to you can be pretty damn sure they will continue to collect all your personal information and use it however they please.

Huh? Fyi, the federal marketplace has awarded me the "Elite Circle of Champions" broker status for doing more than 100 apps during OEP. Lolz

Are you saying if I put a VPN on my computer I wouldnt be able to enroll a client?

There are many ways healthcare.gov does indeed mine for client data. I could get into it if you want, but this goog thing is completely unknown to me

1000x Yes.

This is one of the biggest stories of the past/current 5 years that isn't well reported.

@CBOEtrader I'm saying that if you block access to Google from your computer, most government sites will not work. I mean by using a firewall. VPN should be transparent and have not effect.

Please say more about the healthcare.gov data.

After reaching for my checkbook to pay the utilities without giving all my personal info to Google, I realized that none of the online bank accounts I have ever hit Google. I've watched Little Snitch while accessing my accounts and paying bills.

So that's good. At least the banking industry has so far resisted or been barred from giving away all our personal info to Google, unlike most government agencies.

So my solution for now is to use online checking to send paper checks to pay my bills.

BTW, I actually wrote Richard Stallman about how the FBI "anonymous" tip website includes Google javascript, giving Google access to all of the FBI's tips. He replied that just since Google could read all that data does not mean they actually would. Ie, just "trust Google."

No way.

Something like 87% of all healthare.gov insurance clients receive subsidies to pay for their coverage.

To do this the client must click yes allowing healthcare.gov to double check your healthcare against SSC, birth certificate, and IRS tax return. Along w that they ask everything imaginable about your health/employment/family data/residence/race/gender/prison history/etc... way more than they would ever need to do what they are supposedly doing. Its odd, and these databases dont forget.

They will randomly enter questions into the digital database regarding the individual like : "ever been in foster care", "have you reduced hours at work to make less money"... etc

On the other end the subsidies are directly related to your care. Meaning some of the "cost saving provisions" could only be distributed if the govt checks your medical history.

Basically they pay you to confirm all your govt details, and they oddly seem to know everything

They also re-register all american Indians in this process. The racial databasing is a question I wont fill in. It literally does nothing, except give the govt data on your identity WHY?
