According to NBC/WallStreet Journal Poll numbers (not exactly right leaning) showed it was not who you might think...
https://www.wsj.com/articles/trumps-approval-rating-steady-despite-shutdown-wsj-nbc-news-poll-says-11548597643

DNC Approval after shutdown: 35% Approve, 40% Disapprove (-5%)
GOP Approval after shutdown: 34% Approve, 43% Disapprove (-9%)

Trump after shutdown: 43% Approve, 54% Disapprove (-11%)
McConnell after shutdown: 17% Approve, 35% Disapprove (-18%)

Nancy Pelosi: 28% Approve, 47% Disapprove (-19%)

Looks like Pelosi took the biggest hit from the shutdown theatrics.

Do a poll about how the public perceives the threat of illegal activity at the border after an entire month of Trump talking about this issue.

Mr. Trump has made this issue a central issue and this was a good tactic. He knows this bothers Americans who have a brain.

It made no sense to delay people getting tax refunds and pissing off all voters however; so the govt. is now "open".

Shortly, this issue will be back on the front burner and the public will eventually demand action.

Pelosi saying she is "for border security but against a wall" sounds so idiotic that even some of her own party will abandon her.
