The main contender if they were smart would have waited until mid summer to announce their bid.
Historically that is the guy that gives a fresh perspective of new blood for the constituents and is the one that ends up winning or doing the best out of the field.
People that start our early in the year before the election year, never EVER win. People are damn tired of them by time the primaries roll around.
You are also subjecting yourself to a longer period of Oppo research, Smear and attack ads. The longer they are in the race the dirtier they get.
