Bernie Sanders will make his announcement on Vermont Public Radio Tuesday

Senator will vow to push forward with the 'political revolution' started in 2016

He funded his last campaign via small donations, vowing to take on corporations

He joins an already-crowded Democrat field which includes Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Corey Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand

But do you know what social democracy is?

Can you explain in detail what it is?

In a social democracy, individuals and corporations continue to own the capital and the means of production. Much of the wealth, in other words, is produced privately. That said, taxation, government spending, and regulation of the private sector are much heavier under social democracy than would be the case under pure capitalism.

Exactly....the government wants to take away from the private sector to pay the leeches in the public sector.

And you're OK with that?

"Our campaign is not only about defeating Donald Trump," the 77-year-old self-described democratic socialist said in an email to supporters. "Our campaign is about transforming our country and creating a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice."

I might not agree with Bernie, but I like him because he seems more genuine and honest than 99.9% of politicians.

That's the problem, people get sucked into "words", because they seem to sound good. But when you get to the "actions" part, the financial and economic realities he proposes will bankrupt the country quickly.

There's a reason Bernie got such a huge part of the Millennial vote, but as the age ranges increased, those vote totals dropped off. It's when you get older and wiser, do you realize his ideas are unobtainable and how much they will cost you.

He should be the Democratic nominee. Let socialist youth get this shit out of their system.

True...but Bernie would just follow in footsteps of other giants to bankrupt country. It is not like Bush, Obama, and now Trump are fiscal conservatives...

Bernie / Ocasio for Democratic ticket. I think they should just do it.

They can't win, so they may as well throw people who are too old, or stupid to win anyway. Should be entertaining. I give Elizabeth Warren high entertainment value during a presidential campaign too.

Is that detailed enough?

Every Western government follows this model. The differences is the degree of government taxation and regulation. Pure Capitalism exists nowhere.

I liked him at first, back when he first started campaigning last election, for this very reason. I was reminded of that moment again when I watched his ~10 min presidential bid video yesterday. But, as I learned more about the specifics of his intended actions (free shit!!!), he repulsed me.

Bernie is such an asshole. Guy will be on the cusp of 80 years old by 2020, and he thinks it's a logical thing to go ahead and run.
17   RC2006   2019 Feb 19, 5:16pm

He has to run as an independent since white men cant run on the D ticket.

His confusion of Huey Lewis with Huey Newton when announcing his possible running mate was a regrettable but understandable gaffe. Won’t help with the black vote but could bring in a chunk of the soft rock listener market.

Decent campaign song.

“Tougher than diamonds, whips like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girls dream
Make a bad one good, mmm make a wrong right
Power of love will keep you home at night

Don't need money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
That's the power of love
That's the power of love”
