A MS-13 gang member who was kicked out of the US for stabbing a man outside a bodega was arrested yesterday after re-entering the US.

William Umberto Martinez Chavez became the second member of the notorious street gang to be arrested coming back into the country in less than a week.

Salvadoran Chavez was deported in 2017 after serving 15 years in jail for the manslaughter of a man in Huntington, Long Island, in May 2000.

The 40-year-old was apprehended back in the same town by ICE agents on Tuesday.

Chavez was released from prison and deported to his native El Salvador, Eastern District U.S. Attorney records said.

But shortly after he was deported, Martinez re-entered the United States, according to sources reported by News Day.

So California would give this guy "sanctuary".

My point is that Californian "sanctuary" laws are insane because they prevent ICE from protecting the public.

Maybe it wasn't Canada. He could have just strolled into California across the vast area where there is no wall.

Right like he took an effin cruise ship to hang out with Rin before sauntering Southward into the country.

Hey! Maybe he was abducted by space aliens and dropped off!? Space aliens, illegal aliens, what's the diff?

By airplane would be much faster and cheaper and far easier than crossing the southern border. Airline tickets from Mexico to Canada start around $350 I'm guessing that's far cheaper than a coyote or on par with a bus ticket from southern border to New York.

That requires a US visa - checked at US immigration post in Canadian airport. Impossible to come illegally by airplane.

At the northern border there is much less border patrol and a 100 yard wide clear cut with no fence.

You're forgetting that there aren't just US Border Agents at the US-Canada Border.

Actually the flying is over the US not into the US.

At the northern border there is much less border patrol and a 100 yard wide clear cut with no fence.

Illegal crossings from Canada are minuscule compared to crossings from Mexico.

CBS News has learned the number of people caught illegally crossing the United States' northern border is up 142 percent. Border Patrol agents apprehended 445 people entering the U.S. from Canada during the first six months of 2018; that compares with 184 during the same period last year.
Last year, Border Patrol agents along the northern border apprehended 3,027 people who were in the country illegally. By comparison, agents along the southern border captured more than 300,000.

99% chance that perp entered US from South.

You're forgetting that their concern is people coming into their country not leaving it. Just be honest, crossing the Canadian border illegally is WAY easier than crossing the Mexican border. Are you trying to say it is not?

Your forgetting that for a Mexican come from Canada, they first have to enter it.

I admit an El Salvadoran would have a much harder time getting in to Canada than a Mexican.

Mexico has visa waiver with Canada, but they still do background check when you apply online for eTA.
