So I'm standing in line at the Deli and there's a guy about 10 years older than me. He's wearing a T-Shirt with the God Father Logo(the hand controlling the puppet thing).
The caption reads... "I'm not yelling I'm Italian".
I say to him to make small talk. "Hey stop yelling"
He looks at me puzzled, I point at his shirt. He says, "Oh it's true, we get excited and talk loud."
I said "Donald Trump could be Italian the way he talks with his hands."
He blows up. "Oh don't insult Italians with that Son of a Bitch!"
I said "He's still better than Hillary."
he says "Well my Dog would be better than Hillary".
So then I said, "well who does the Democrats have for 2020 that's not a Socialist?"

That was it, he and his wife are in full huff and puff mode now, steaming and stewing.
"Oh that's perposterous, Socialist! Come on aint no Socialists!"
I asked
"Who's not a Socialist, Name just one?"

His wife says. "Let it go Tony... don't even botha, this is why we need to get out of Floridah, We need to Move out to California..."

The two black ladies behind the counter was smiling at me the whole time I was there after that.

I had so much to say, I just let it go. Liberals they can't even talk about the people they support without getting angry. I think they are more mad at you for not falling for their socialist shit more than they are outraged at you for calling their folks what they are. They don't try to defend them, they just get pissed off you called it as you saw it.

Left me wondering, if that guy was really just disingenuous or really that Ill-informed about the Politicians he supports.
If he watched the news just once a week, he would see everyone of the Cocksuckers are declaring they are running on a Socialist platform.
There's no denying, any rational sane person that follows the News, can see they are clearly self confessed Socialists. That wasn't a dig or a smear on them.

People like that have no RIGHT to vote.

I drove home laughing and shaking my head the whole way.

Heh, Heh! Clueless? If you think California is tea and sympathy, it's amazing you didn't drown in an inch of water already.

An incident with a gavoon from New York or Jersey. Aren't they just charming?

Sicily is not really considered Italian by most of Italy, rather an uncivilized outpost.

After being in the US they yell "Italian pride." Some of the clueless ones are perversely proud of the whole Godfather stuff, all of Scorsese's and Coppola's movies glorifying the bad behavior of the criminals among them.

I was sort of happy to leave them behind; I was tired of the guys with the gold chains, Yankees apparel, and funny accents.

Far off the subject, a female from New Jersey introduced me to a friend of hers who also was from Jersey; later she said "she only dates italian guys". I said "In some parts of Italy the guys look like me; but obviously not in Sicily they don't."

They won't go out to California; California is like a distant planet to the provincial people of New York/New Jersey. They've been to 1. NYC 2. Italy on vacation 3. Florida

I miss those guys, at least they were unwaiving American and would have been 100% behind Donald Trump.
Those type of Italians aren't down here anymore. I miss the real New Yorkers with the Swagger and American spirit.

This Nancy boy was more like a Condo Commando eunuch than an Italian. The only obvious Italian thing about him, was the message on his shirt calling himself Italian.

You really showed them

BayArea says

No I didn't, they huffed and puffed and that was that. I just stood there smiling at the depth of knowledge people have about the Commie Socialists they are voting for.
And to think that California is some open arm welcoming haven for them. It would suck their retirement saving dry in a year. These people are clueless.
I was impressed the black ladies behind the counter weren't giving me dagger eyes. They must have saw the Candice Owens clip.

You would think if Tony knew so much, there was golden teaching moment he could have shed some light on the propaganda tarnishing the Good Angelic Democrats and Progs as Socialists, and he could have informed me how I've got it all wrong. Instead they went into full meltdown panic mode. I should call Project Veritas on them to make sure they aren't voting in Florida and New Jersey. Clueless self righteous bastards like that see nothing wrong with voting twice in an election.
6   Patrick   2019 Apr 14, 9:46am

@Tenpoundbass I'm glad you did that. We should all try to reach out to TDS sufferers in a non-confrontational way. They are our fellow citizens and we need their votes.
7   Tenpoundbass   2019 Apr 14, 9:56am

Thanks P, I always make a point to wear my Political affiliation on my sleeve in any public small talk I can.

We've got to stop hiding our support for our president in the shadows, we're not Political refugees.
I never yell or get combative with people over it, but I think my methods lets everyone else not involved in the conversation see just how unhinged the Left are.

I'm not confrontational but I'll squeeze in Donald Trump when I can, just to give me an in. They always take it and run with it hook line and sinker.
I've never had a Civil conversation with these people ever. I would like just once a good conversation even if we disagreed on absolutely everything and parted ways by wishing each other luck.
8   Patrick   2019 Apr 14, 11:49am

Actually, the Bay Area, we are political refugees.

This is the least liberal area of the United States when it comes to tolerating diverse points of view. There is only one point of view allowed here, and real consequences for questioning it, from getting beaten up for wearing a MAGA hat, to getting fired like James Damore.

But it is still possible and important to gently point out the harmful self-contradictions of the politically correct corporate globalist view of the world. Maybe something like, "Well, this is a sanctuary city, so why shouldn't we accept all the undocumented migrants who want to come here?" Don't even use the word "illegal".

I'm heading to Florida soon for my cousin's wedding. She lives in Marin but was a Disney character during college and wants to be married there.

It'll be my first time in Florida and I've never seen the Atlantic. I've flown over it but didn't even have a window seat. Since I'll be there for 3 days I'm considering getting an uber out of Kissimmee at some point to head East and check out the sand. Any tips?

Kissimmee is inland west, and Disney didn't have the forethought to buy and develop land out to the beaches. All of the beaches about 15 to 20 miles East of Disney are all private land. There's Daytona Beach North East, or Port St Lucie South East but you wont see no beach due East from Disney. All of that Ocean front is behind barrier island and inlets. Otherwise private land. If you want the Margarita souvenir glass go to Daytona, if you want a low keyed bread and breakfast experience go to Port St Lucie.

Tip: Go to Jupiter/Juno Beach/Tequesta. They're close together, like Santa Cruz/Capitola CA.

The beaches on Jupiter Island, Jupiter, and Juno Beach are outstanding.

Free parking, showers are typical.

Is that the only reason ?

IT would very convenient for you if you could convince enough people that all democrats are socialists. Or that all of us that find Trump off the charts repugnant and unamerican are socialists.

THen you might stand a chance of electing him again in 2020.

I'll agree that there is an unfortunate "counter revolutionary" aspect to many national democratic politicians these days. Too much doubling down on identity politics.

Democrats are following republicans lead. An unfortunate aspect of our primary based presidential election process is that sometimes a winning primary strategies involve appealing to the extreme part of the right and left bases. IT's actually easier to see this on the right than on the left, but it's there on the left too.

But what kind of person paints us all with the same brush ?

Tenpoundbass says

I know you think that I've called you all nazi's or racists. IT's not true. I've only accused you of denying it or looking the other way when a politician you voted for intentionally appealed to that part of your sides political base.

So shut the fuck up, if I end up voting for someone that wants health care for all Americans, or who plays identity politics a little bit much for my taste.

At least it's not so repulsive and unamerican that I have to deny they are doing it.
14   just_passing_through   2019 Apr 14, 6:29pm

Thanks guys!

Yeah barrier islands. My dad grew up in Aransas Pass and when I was a kid visiting grandma we went to Port Aransas which was the barrier island. In Texas.

I guess I'm a socialist if it means being opposed to privatization of our public schools, our prisons, our highways, and everything else that too many in our our corrupt government want to sell off to private enterprise.

But I'm not a socialist by the traditional definition. That is I'm not for the means of production being owned or controlled by the state.

If some candidates are promising some free shit from the government to get elected, thats not socialism. IT's just politics.

I would compare it to Trumps promising to take care of the little guy, by not taking away social security and medicare. EXcept what he's done with taxes and the deficit ( 1.2 $trillion annual deficit in economic growth times) is moving us in the opposite direction.

TRump has delivered on the hard cold CASH he promised the megamillionaires and billionaires, in a way that those so called socialists will never be able to deliver "free college" (or whatever it is that scares you), to the people that vote for them .
17   MisdemeanorRebel   2019 Apr 14, 7:53pm

@just_degralicious:

You can swim in the Atlantic, any time of year. No wetsuit necessary. Check out Cocoa Beach, it's the Old Middle Class Florida now doomed to eventual destruction by either Lumpenprole Twerkers (Hollywood) or Golffucks (Stuart). Though the Golffucks are far less annoying.

@Tenpoundbass

Saint Lucie is now full of leftist NY'er refugees. That whole place depresses me. Vero Beach is much better.

America will never be a Socialist Country.

Didn't you hear Your President, so presidentially decree that last month?

TRump toying with his idiot base again. What else is new ?

I agree that we will never be socialist.

If you and I had been around when they started social security and medicare, you would have been making the same ridiculous argument, and I would have been saying it's not socialism, and arguing that one day people like you will be demanding that government not take those (entitlements) away.

By the way, funny that they are called "entitlements" considering that we all pay social payroll and medicare taxes, that get spent as general tax revenues.
21   Tenpoundbass   2019 Apr 15, 10:43am

I love how Commies try to conscript any and every aspect of Government provided services that taxes fully pay for, as Socialism.

The Commies are the ones that over burden and tax those systems, so they are about to break under the weight of people who shouldn't even be elgible to use them.

No Public Schools for Illegal Aliens, no Food stamps no Government assistance what so ever for any non Citizen. That should squelch that argument don't you agree?

I think it's time we clean up the mess the Democrats have made of our Perks meant to help Tax Paying Americans. They used Alynski tactics so they could shit all over it, then they call it Socialism.

But it's just more proof of what Socialism is and does, it fucks up everything. And the Commie Cocksuckers that call for it, fucks up our systems even worse.

Cocoa Beach/Melbourne is a almost a straight shoot east from Kissimmee, too. Just take 528 (no "The", that's a California thing). You can also check out the Kennedy Space Center while you're there and if you time it right, a big ass launch. And yes, the ground shakes.
