Government provided horrible medical care while spending shitload of money? Say it ain't so!

And this is a great reason to fight "government healthcare for all."

I'd like to see a two-tiered healthcare system in the USA.

(1) Free market, few rules other than enforcement of contracts. Open to all citizens, legal visitors, and legal residents. By "enforcement of contracts" I mean that if I have payed my premiums then I'm entitled to the services outlined in the contract I signed with the open-market health insurance.

(2) "Free" government run for citizens and visitors. Not available to legal residents, as only those residents who can fully support themselves would be considered legal. This would be run like a 3rd-world field hospital offering only very low cost care by (potentially) minimally skilled and minimally accredited "doctors" and clinicians. Yeah, this would be terrible care, but it's where the ENTIRE country is headed if we try to do high-end "government healthcare for all."

This is not about government health care. This is about corruption and incompetence at the California Department of Corrections.

Many citizens and politicians are calling for complete government takeover of healthcare for all. They claim that healthcare is somehow different than other services and won't result in bad service at extreme cost. Well, this article puts that claim to the test, showing that in fact a government takeover of healthcare is just like all other takeovers: bad service at extreme cost is the result.
