JIMMY CARTER: US IS ‘MOST WARLIKE NATION IN HISTORY’

By Brett Wilkins

During his regular Sunday school lesson at Maranatha Baptist Church in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, Jimmy Carter revealed that he had recently spoken with President Donald Trump about China. Carter, 94, said Trump was worried about China’s growing economy and expressed concern that “China is getting ahead of us.”

Carter, who normalized diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing in 1979, said he told Trump that much of China’s success was due to its peaceful foreign policy.

“Since 1979, do you know how many times China has been at war with anybody?” Carter asked. “None, and we have stayed at war.” While it is true that China’s last major war—an invasion of Vietnam—occurred in 1979, its People’s Liberation Army pounded border regions of Vietnam with artillery and its navy battled its Vietnamese counterpart in the 1980s. Since then, however, China has been at peace with its neighbors and the world.

Carter then said the US has been at peace for only 16 of its 242 years as a nation. Counting wars, military attacks and military occupations, there have actually only been five years of peace in US history—1976, the last year of the Gerald Ford administration and 1977-80, the entirety of Carter’s presidency. Carter then referred to the US as “the most warlike nation in the history of the world,” a result, he said, of the US forcing other countries to “adopt our American principles.”

Another example of patnetters talking out of both cheeks. US might is alltruistic, never mind corrupt DC ticks, siphon the loot then our wall street overlords takes a hefty cut, then toss some scraps to you. Who begs for it. Spin it as American exceptionalism,

It's a fact, when America shuts down those military bases, it'll be great for domestic debt.

It won't be great for Central Asians.

This is what I mean by Leftists being unable to consider the other effects of their policies.

Russia, China, Iran do not want those bases gone to help us with our national debt.

Are you a US citizen? No biggie either way, entitled to your opinion and won't stop you, but your comments haven't been the most logical honestly. Free to your opinion or whatever words you're posting here, but it's a bit deranged.

If you're not a US citizen, congrats on being jealous. Jealously is the greatest form of flattery, thank you.

There’s no sense of balance to what our country does overseas, not just Iran, Syria, Venezuela, but even China too. Our military industry has us in over our head. It needs to stop.

America’s largest foreign soil base is Garrison Humphreys home to 45,000 personnel in South Korea and right across from China.

We would absolutely freak if a country did this to us. The oligarchs media would not let us get a minute rest if any country built a supply logistics base the size of the Pentagon just a hundred miles or so off our coast.

US imperialism madness must stop if at all possible.

JIMMY CARTER: US IS ‘MOST WARLIKE NATION IN HISTORY’

Not because we must either.

This has been a choice made which has consolidated power and wealth while many die while our nation sacrifices and is robbed of the wealth we create.

Greed is at the root, murderous greed just like every sacred text of mankind warns about.

Before the Korean war the United States never even kept a standing army. There is a different choice made.

Scattered across the globe are 800 American military bases while Washington’s principal enemies du jour Russia and China have, respectively, only one and none.

It is depressing to observe how the United States of America has become the evil empire. Having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and in the Central Intelligence Agency for the second half of the Cold War, I had an insider’s viewpoint of how an essentially pragmatic national security policy was being transformed bit by bit into a bipartisan doctrine that featured as a sine qua non global dominance for Washington.

Listen, at the end of the day, I'd actually think most Patnetter's would agree the military expenses and reach is over the top. The problem is our economy and frankly parts of the world have become reliant on our military and the threat of it. If we don't pull back carefully, our economy could suffer massively and then people would be bitching about that.

I do think we could reduce our footprint to an extent and would like to see it happen. But close a foreign base and guess what, someone else is going to fill the void. It has to be done strategically. Are trade routes protected that get us products or our products to other countries? It's not just about money or us being an evil empire. We're a global economy and more people would be dying if we weren't doing what we do. We kill, but more we be killed if we didn't.

Whether it's right, wrong or stupid, we are the stabilizing force in the world regardless of how many incursions we've been involved in. It wasn't the US starting WWI or II. I'd bet you can take KT's list of US "wars" and add up the casualties and it doesn't come close to touching WWI or II. We start or intervene in shit for sure, but nothing close to the magnitude of what Europe has done. Be pissed at them... and understand it was Europe that forced our hand into this position while they rebuilt from their bullshit. No MAJOR war (or even close) in 50 years and people don't even remember Europe couldn't keep it's shit together for 30 years before 2 of the globes deadliest wars? Fuck America though...

Ask the NYT and WaPo why they stopped covering Afghanistan in 2009.

Lack of coverage is due to the WaPo assigning 100 staffers to "Git Trump"

Afghanistan could be handed off to India, which would be the most elegant solution. They have rough relations with China, the Russians won't want to muscle in on a top military customer, allows India to encircle Crapistan to the West, and gets us out of there.

U.S. solder killed in the Republic of Niger, shows his last moments via his attached body webcam

It's the bare ugly truth, someone’s son dying as an invader in a foreign and unfamiliar land where no one knows him except the guys dragging his body to the cover & protection of a vehicle, hoping and praying to get out of the mess they find themselves in via our totally corrupt and dysfunctional government.

See what this injured soldier sees, as his lungs grasp that last breath, what thoughts and prayers are passing through his mind as his life comes to an end.

Ask yourself why should our sons & daughters die in our endless wars for the elite oligarchs & their families, who own & control our corrupt government.

Is it for freedom & democracy or the expansion of the empire and control of natural resources throughout the world.

We are basically at war with Iran again and wanting to force regime change there and in Venezuela. It's no coincidence we are all programmed to hate Venezuela's leader. When the straight of Hormuz closes a global chain reaction will be triggered and Venezuela's oil could save us from the collapse of the highly illegal derivatives market and so the global economy. Both China and Russia stand with Iran and they are protecting Venezuela from our regime change operations while we make their economy scream.

This all strikes me as the tightest wound mainspring.

But we just had to do all this shit and so here we are. And then there are nukes just waiting to be fired. Ask yourself just who is globalism? Banks, oil, military contractors? Shipping fits into all of that too and maybe bears mentioning.

Carter missed the root cause. We've only been without a central bank twice in our history. Try fighting a war without the ability to print endless debt, doesn't work so well.

18 years war in Afghanistan

Hopefully we all can agree here that 18-year war without any end in sight and at this point, without any reason is bad from all possible respects - fiscal, moral for troops, generating support for Islamists by constant bombing of marriage processions, etc. If someone should be worried about Islamists in Afghanistan, it is China, India, and Russia - let them spend the money and lives of their citizens.
NuttBoxer says

Exactly. Or have a balanced budget amendment, where budget has to be balanced in all cases except official, declared war. Most of wars these days are not declared.

The Straits of Hormuz is an international waterway that all of the Gulf States and the World wants open. Iran's closure of it would be an Act of Aggression.

The USN will keep the Straits open in the name of Freedom of the Seas, which is an International Right the US protects for everybody because Cheap Europeans won't do it.

@kt1652 good to hear your perspective. You are not alone in the conclusion that we are not the world's altruistic guardian as the propagandists will have you thinking, e.g. those poor beautiful children in Syria that MAYBE had been gassed just had to have those 59 cruise missiles launched in order for there to be goodness and righteousness in the world again. (most of which missed, how can you miss with a geo-terrain guidance system is beyond me)
