I'm still wondering why the problems they cited for the last multiples of tax increases never got solved.

I am still enamored of the publicity from when they promoted the California Lottery that the profits would completely pay for the schools and no new taxes would be needed any more.

1.Sell tax citing altruistic motives. 2. Squander new taxes 3. Cite requirement for new taxes for same problem on altruistic motives.

Then there is the fucking gas tax: collect gas tax money for years while letting the fucking roads go to shit, increase the fucking gas tax, campaign against Prop6 with overt threats to stop maintaining roads altogether, defeat Prop6, stop maintaining the fucking roads anyway.
