In the 2018-19 Budget, the Government announced it would introduce an economy-wide cash payment limit of $10,000 for payments made or accepted by businesses for goods and services. Transactions equal to, or in excess of this amount would need to be made using the electronic payment system or by cheque. The Black Economy Taskforce recommended this action to tackle tax evasion and other criminal activities.

The real goal is of course to control the little people better, so that those who question The Narrative can be tracked and perhaps deprived of the ability to use the economy at all.

The anonymous use of cash should be considered a fundamental human right.

This is ridiculous. Australians should be able to walk into a Ferrari dealership with a suitcase of cash freshly laundered from Chinese labor operations just like any other free country.

This is terrible because hoeing is legal in Australia which means that each party is now limited to ...

$250/hr or 40 hours for one hoe or 20 hours for a threesome.

So thus, now ppl's hoeing activities need to go on the Mastercard if one wants to go balls out!

That's just crony, anti freedom.

In the US, any bank deposit over $10k gets reported, I believe. Cash or no cash involved.

That's only so that the IRS has a way of taxing the individual, as that would be above the free gift limit of $9K.

Since the flow of business is already taxed and can be audited by the general ledger, it isn't illegal to use more than $10K in cash.
