President Trump addressed the trade war with China, saying he was the right person to take on the fight.
"I am the chosen one," the president told reporters Wednesday after saying, "Somebody had to do it."
Trump made China one of the main pitches during the 2016 election and has since threatened the country with tariffs for what he says are unfair trade practices.
The president's trade advisers convinced him to delay some of the planned trade tariffs on China so as not to "ruin Christmas."
JPMorgan estimated the tariffs could cost American households up to $1,000 a year. China has threatened to retaliate against U.S. tariffs.
Trump tweeted Wednesday that his administration was, "Doing great with China and other Trade Deals."
