Well the scary reality right now is. This guy doesn't even have to get one single vote. He just has to be officially running, so it looks like it was on the up and up.
But honestly, as it stands now, they can just pick Hillary Clinton or Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee.

Joe Walsh is already setting up the premise for the Electors to chose him over Trump when he doesn't get one single vote.
The 25th Amendment. The voters don't know Trump is mental, so they must protect us from Trump and nominate Walsh.
We wont have Paul Manafort and Roger Stone to block them from pulling stupid shit. We wont have Steve Bannon with the most trafficked news site on the planet, warning the voters about the shenanigans. So we wont know about it, until they put their thumbs down and made the decision.
