The cop really, really did not want to shoot this guy and gave him every chance. He still refused to listen and pulled the damn gun.

I've always wondered if making them go through a short course early in school, like 8th grade, where they teach them how to interact with a cop would help avoid some of this. Show them these videos - lots of videos just like this where the brave fool gets blasted to smithereens.

This stuff seems like common sense to most of us, but I think some ppl are just literally too stupid, or their parents never taught them discipline and so they think they can negotiate or command a cop who has his gun drawn on him. I've always understood why a cop gets nervous if you make sudden moves or they can't see your hands, but dumb people don't think like that. I think it can be somewhat taught though.

Obviously, some of these ppl have a sad and messed up life, and just don't care if they die.

Apparently, this guy somehow survived.

Guy has a gun on his waist and behaving like this, what did he expect would happen? Ugh

Low IQ.

The cops should've waited for him to fire first. What if the gun was jammed or wasn't loaded?? Cops are racist.

Yeah, should've waited until hit with at least one bullet. Or even two to be ABSOLUTELY sure the gun is real, loaded and not with blanks and that the perp is actually intends to shoot them and not just playing with something he found under the park bench.

You guys are confused

This is suicide by cop. This is not an example where high school cop etiquette training was needed

Chris Rock made a video showing them how to act.

The trial will not be lengthy.

Well, it's either suicide by cop or it's someone whose brain doesn't think beyond a 5 second horizon.

If the guy had died, gun-grabbers would claim it was "yet another gun death" even though it was the gun working perfectly and as legally intended.
13   Hircus   2019 Sep 5, 11:48am

Well, I think of something like this when I hear suicide by cop. Its very blatant.
www.youtube.com/embed/Uy5E_cmeVVE

The guy from the OP vid was kinda negotiating, being somewhat compliant but argumentative, making me think his goal may not be suicide, but more of rebellious "yo i dont give a fuck" indifferent stupidity that you commonly see ghetto people pridefully boast about. They often want to "win" at some petty detail, letting them feel like they still have some power and respect. But then again this guy may have been trying to create an opportunity to shoot the cop and go out w/ a bang, which is suicide.

I really do think some of these videos are of people that are really really stupid, and their own death wasn't their initial goal, but was more a result of their indifference and lack of thinking about how the cop will react to their actions. Unless we come up w/ new tech or strategies that can make it easy for a cop to subdue them without risking their own life, I'm in favor of their current strategy that just shoots them, like what happened here. I think it's important that cops keep themselves safe, and that people see these videos so they know what happens.

But even then, I don't feel the videos are enough. I think the title of this thread is a good example why - some of the really really stupid ghetto ppl see these videos and actually
see the cop at fault, not the perp. "he said he wanted to put da gun down and then he would get on his knees. they coulda let him and it woulda been fine." They don't think from the cops perspective about how dangerous that would be. Then they go off spouting stupid shiet. Living with an IQ < 70 must be tough, and especially if you were brought up around people that explain everything from a "not my fault" perspective. I've known a lot of ghetto people in my life, and they don't tend to think critically in search of truth. They tend to look for a reason to bash and blame the other side to exempt their own actions. And they actually believe it. This is why I feel there could be value in teaching this to people. I think it has potential to not only reduce some of the unnecessary shootings, but could also help sway public opinion against the "dey be killin us" false video interpretations, and maybe even the general "police are too aggressive sentiment". Showing someone a video of how fast someone can sprint 20 feet to stab a cop tends to change their mind about how aggressive cops are justified to be.

Doubt it will have any effect on the "IQ<70" crowd.

Something similar happened yesterday in Victorville.

Victorville news: "White cop discriminates against a black man, then recklessly drops service weapon onto the ground. Bullets soar through a community filled with minority children after a dangerous criminal finds the gun."

followup headline in 2 days

"Breaking details in the case: White cop lived a life of privilege"
