"There is no good guy with a gun"? Let's disarm the police then.

Not one of the 19 mass shootings this year was stopped by a “good guy with a gun,” an armed civilian.

How do you define a "stopped mass shooting"? I mean, if it's stopped, there are no "4 or more killed", therefore it's not a mass shooting by definition. And if there is more than 4 killed, it's still a mass shooting and will be marked as "not stopped" even if a good guy with a gun has prevented further killings.

Very convenient.

Fucking snakes.

Here's an example:

"A man armed with a .45-caliber handgun and a lot of ammunition wandered onto an auto repair shop property and began firing in the parking lot Friday afternoon, police said.

The gunman killed one employee and paralyzed a second. That’s when the employees at Schlenker Automotive fought back with equal force, Rockledge police chief Joseph La Sata said.

“The manager, who was a concealed weapons permit holder, came out and engaged in gunfire in the parking lot,” La Sata said. “The manager fled back inside the building, being chased by the gunman. Another Schlenker employee, who also had concealed weapons permit, engaged in gunfire with the suspect.”

Is this a "stopped mass shooting" or not? We don't know. Because it was stopped before it has a chance to become one.

How about this one:

" ... took place in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1993. In that incident, four terrorists armed with fully automatic assault weapons and hand grenades attacked the Saint James Church. Their sudden, violent assault killed 11 victims and wounded 58. But a single armed citizen named Charl van Wyk was able to draw his personal carry gun, a five-shot snub-nosed .38 Special revolver, and open fire. He wounded one of the attackers, and all four were so jarred off their plan by this unexpected return of gunfire that they broke off the attack and fled."

- is it "stopped mass shooting", because attackers fled when fired upon, or "not stopped mass shooting" because they still killed more than 4 people?

How about this one - does it qualify as "stopped mass shooting"?

"A vicious teen had stabbed his mother to death the night before to gain access to his estranged father’s locked gun cabinet. He subsequently showed up at the high school in Pearl, Mississippi, and opened fire. Hearing shots and screams, Vice Principal Myrick ran to the parking lot and retrieved his Colt Officer’s .45, with which he confronted the escaping killer. The young monster, who had killed two young victims and wounded 11, surrendered as soon as he looked down the barrel of the vice principal’s sidearm. He had been on course, with the stolen .30-30 rifle and more ammunition, to a nearby junior high school when Myrick captured him."

I guess not, because he killed only two, therefore not making it to the "mass shooting" threshold.

How 'bout this one:

"... Clackamas Mall shooting in Oregon, in which a psycho with a semi-automatic rifle opened fire. Nick Melli, a young man with security guard training and carrying a .40 pistol on a permit, drew and took aim at the gunman. Melli didn’t fire, for fear of hitting innocents behind the perpetrator, but the gunman at that point fled through an employees-only doorway and down an inside hall, where he then committed suicide. What could have been a high-casualty mass murder was apparently aborted by the mere sight of an armed citizen."

Suuuure, it was stopped, but how do we know it was gonna be "mass shooting". We don't know, so it doesn't count, right?

"Jeanne Assam was an ex-cop working volunteer security for the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2007, when she heard the opening volley of shots and literally “ran to the sound of the guns.” Armed with the 9mm pistol she was licensed to carry as an armed citizen, she shot the killer on the run and dropped him, at which time he shot himself, concluding the matter. Assam was hailed for her courageous act, which indisputably saved many lives."

Sorry, Jeanne, you are NOT a "good guy with a gun". Or you didn't stop a mass shooting. Or both.

"...mass shooting at Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2007. Kenneth Hammond was having dinner with his wife in a mall restaurant when he heard the shots, and responded. The killer had slain five helpless victims and wounded four when Hammond spotted him and opened fire with his subcompact 1911. The carnage ended there: Hammond pinned the gunman in position with judicious shots, making him forget about inflicting death and focus on preventing his own until the first responding officer arrived. The gunman was eventually killed by SWAT officers. "

Nice try, Kenneth, but YOU DID NOT PREVENT that mass shooting (>4 killed), therefore you're not a "good guy with a gun".

This one is easy - did not develop into mass shooting, therefore not "prevented mass shooting":

"In Aurora, Colorado, in 2012, a crazed gunman showed up at a church there and opened fire by surprise, killing a helpless woman. Before he could claim any more victims, however, he was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer among the parishioners, who was carrying his own handgun. The incident occurred at the New Destiny Christian Center."

I guess these stupid psychologists didn't get the memo and came to a wrong, non-woke conclusion:

"...in Pennsylvania last year, when an enraged man entered a psychiatric clinic and shot a caseworker dead and wounded one of the doctors before the latter drew a small-caliber pistol and shot the man down, limiting the death toll to one. The doctor recovered and, declared a hero by local police, suffered no consequences for being armed in a “gun-free” zone. I was on a panel with three psychologists that discussed this case for the “Ethics and Psychology” podcast. The general consensus was that the Pennsylvania doctor had done the right thing and prevented a massacre."

I love these provincial cosmopolitans who think they're fucking geniuses and they can use these weaselly definitions.

The guy who wrote this actually ends his article saying "Just hide or run away". Didn't help in Mumbai or Kenya. And it's un-fucking-American.

Have a stupid David Hogg Quote, sharing with us his 19-year old Wisdom:

It's pandemonium and all services are shut down after a disaster like a hurricane.
There are only two ATM's in town doling out cash. One on Martin Luther King Blvd, next to the looted store, and one in Davie with Cajun Navy standing guard with legal guns.
Which ATM are you going to use?

And here's the original story of the 61-year old guy with the AR-15:

https://www.ocala.com/news/20190711/summerfield-homeowner-injured-kills-2-intruders-with-ar-15

It's beautiful!

The only sad parts are that the robbers managed to wound the owner, and that the owner didn't get the chance to kill the other two robbers.

Looking into what it takes to buy an AR-15.

Wonderful, but still the idea scenario is the victim lurching out into the street with M134 and a belt trailing behind him, tracking down the two hiding in the reeds and turning the M134 on them. One could watch the other being cut into big chunks and feel the spatter of FREEDOM! before having to witness his own richly deserved demise.

You're right! The M134 would have been far better.

It shows an incredible naivety about the world and people, and just puts their staggering ignorance on display in the most public way imaginable. How fucking embarrassing! I’d be pretty red in the face if my post just got destroyed as comprehensively as this one did.

So the answer is obvious. Even my black buddy Tim would drive out to Davie and comfortably use the ATM while 20 Red Necks with Red MAGA hats stood guard with AR15s insuring his safety. Rather than use the ATM on MLK Blvd, next to the Looted businesses and burned out Police Cars.

And I would bet $100 every Liberal here would too.

There was a case up on Oregon 5 or so years ago where a guy was shooting up a mall and a dude with a gun stopped him.

He really was a "good guy with a gun".
