House Rules were broken. We haven't tolerated Pervs on the Hill since Ben Franklin.
Either sanction his package as official Washington correspondence or send over Barney Frank to feel him up and see how he likes it. But for the love of Debt, please don't investigate if rules were broken. Because Lying on the Hill is expected, and you never fess until there's Video and Facial Pics.

It's good thing he wasn't a Closet republican tapping on the stall at the Waffle house, he would have been admonished by Tuesday, and run out of town on a fat check.

Do you know what twitter is ? He probably had 10s of thousands of followers. And he's going to tweet his crotch ? That sounds more likely to you, than that someone hacked his account ? Seems pretty unlikely, again, that is if you understand what twitter is.

I've never seen him even say anything embarrassing on TV, let alone expose himself.

Well, at least the correspondents were females, of majority age.

3   marcus   2011 Jun 6, 2:06pm

I stand corrected. I just heard his admission.

Democrats pretty much forgave Clinton for fooling around with an intern. Chances are New York Democrats can forgive wiener for this. If there had been any Santorum involved, he probably would have had to resign, but as TL observed they were adult women, and what the heck, it was email and or instant message correspondence.

Who cares ?

Democrats are less hypocritical (about sex) and more forgiving than republicans. Add that to the reasons why it makes no sense that you are no longer the flaming liberal that you supposedly used to be TOT.

If there's hard evidence on Weiner, a stiff fine would be in order, assuming the evidence can stand up in court. Either way, it's a prickly
situation and someone will certainly be given the shaft.
I don't think anyone is saying that Weiner should hang for this, and
to be frank, he did get his buns in trouble.
But will he now be able to cut the mustard?
I really don't know but I don't relish the bone he has to pick.
If he's grilled, this could get juicy. Especially if he gets cocky.

You obviously haven't been keeping up with the news for the last 200+ years. Here's a list of congressional pervs that takes us up to the start of the Bush error. http://writ.news.findlaw.com/dean/congsexscandals.html

hear are some of the biggies in more detail.

Pray tell why, with all the big issues in the world today, does this piece of news trivia seem important to you other than the man is a democrat?

Ted Stevens then there was the
The Paige email scandal of 06 the Democrats beat that story so hard it got tone.

Weren't most of those British politicians who brought down their government in the scandals in the early 1960's from the Conservative Party?

Oh yeah and that airport Men's room Senator from Idaho or somewhere like that.

I just wonder what makes a man - any man - believe that we'd be interested in seeing his wiener on the interwebs. They all look alike with a few differences - and a politico should be smart enough to understand that anything that's out there is really, truly out there for public consumption.

Doesn't matter if he's a Dem, repub, independent, etc. He's a fucking idiot and deserves whatever comes his way. This thing is so commonplace it's nuts.

Yes, Mikey, puns kinda intended.

See? Isn't that easier than spinning this to be about the Republicans or the Guy that started the thread? That sounded almost American, and someone pissed off at all of the sons of bitches in Washington. Elliemae is starting to be on "HER" side.

Because if he was a Rep, you and the other die hard neocommies would be making a big deal out of it…with just as much effort as you are in trying to marginalize this scandal.
The only thing I find noteworthy about this particular scandal is how it is internet related. I think this is the first one.

It's good to know that someone out there knows me so well he can tell what I would do or not do and exactly the person I am. I'm actually a right of center long time republican neocommie. I've never given a shit about politico's with their zippers down no matter what party they belong to.

I do like to think that the people who crow long and loud about family values, religion, and morality then can't keep their hands off women, men, and children should be condemned as hypocrites long and loud since that's what they are. Everyone knows dems are immoral so they are expected to be pervs.

I appreciate your concern for my thoughts.

What's the difference between me and John Stewart?

Jon Stewart is coherent and entertaining in the evenings...

I'm just sayin'... You asked. ;-)

Wiener is about as dumb as they get. Anyone who posts anything on the internet or anything that spills onto the internet should know that it's there for public consumption no matter how much you encrypt the data by now. Politicians should be extremely aware of this.

Wiener deserves the licking he's likely to get.

*pun intended*

Well, it does appear that this weiner is cooked and may not be hanging around much longer. This is a real pickle he got himself into and it's really getting hairy. But I suppose it's a guy thingy.

I may be a lot of things to you, but I don't get my political queues from the Obama Department of Comedic relief.

You guys were all on the defensive yesterday. Today you're yucking it up with "Stubby". Ball up and grow some stones to think for your selves already.

Since I haven't had cable in over a year, I've not watched Jon Stewart in a year. When I did, I found him entertaining. He's a comedian, not a journalist.

Since I haven't seen his show in over a year I don't know whether or not he is part of an official "Obama Department of Comedic Relief" or not, if that department genuinely exists.

Actually if Obama created such a department, I'd be in full support of it. The Court Jester in Medieval Europe played an important role in government and diplomacy. He would defuse tension with laughter. He'd provide commentary and help all in the court to look at political situations from different angles.

I'm not sure who you are calling "Stubby" but I don't think I'd use that name for Weiner. I saw the pics. I'm just sayin'...

And, be sure of this ToT, you do provide comic relief on occasion. Usually it's in the morning before you've hit the pipe, bong, joint, green edibles, or blunt.

The difference between Jon Stewart and you is that he is funny and coherent in the evenings and you are strange and incoherent in the afternoons/evenings.

To get back on topic, I agree with Mikey. Weiner is getting hung out to dry. Maybe he'll clear his head after the climax of the hearings.

Alas, for hot dogging politicians, it's getting a little chilly out there. Too bad they don't know their onions. This is the damnedest thing I ever slaw.

Now one of the women who was on the receiving end of the tweets says that her job is jeopardized due to the crush of reporters descending upon her jobsite:

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/jun/09/las-vegas-woman-says-invovment-rep-weiner/

She provided the tweets to the press, wrote a letter of apology to the guy's wife and put herself out there to be a media whore. She willingly participated in the email exchanges - but she's a victim now.

what a load of crap. She didn't have to come forward - unless she wanted the attention.
