But I understand what you mean. You mean when Trump takes actions to contain Jihadism, moderate Muslims will suddenly feel attacked and turn into violent islamists themselves. There are several things we can say about that belief.
- First, if moderate Muslims are such ticking bombs, then it proves that Islam is in fact a problem, and we should be talking about nothing else, and do everything in our power to avoid importing Muslims,
- Second, there are different types of tribes: Islam is a religious tribe. The US and European countries are national tribes. Tribes in general tend to coalesce and unify when attacked, and thereby reject perceived intrusions and attacks. You fully expect and understand this would be the case for Muslims, but then you expect the western national tribes to be attacked over and over again but stand still and not react. If you have such lofty expectations of westerners, why not have the same expectations of moderate Muslims?
