https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/11/white-house-doesnt-deny-that-president-trump-referred-to-haiti-african-nations-as-s--hole-countries.html President Donald Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as "s---hole countries" in a meeting with lawmakers, a Democratic aide briefed on the matter told NBC News.

The Washington Post first reported the news, citing two people briefed on the meeting. The newspaper said that lawmakers had convened with the president in the Oval Office on Thursday to discuss a bipartisan immigration deal.

When lawmakers brought up protections for immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries, Trump asked, "Why are we having all these people from s---hole countries come here?"

I read a facinating accout of a peace corps worker who explained how Africa/Africans will NEVER change. You could build an impoverished African community entire modern farming village and by the next year there will be no harvest, all of the equipment sold off, and the village elders/leaders fat and happy while the rest of the people are destitute again. The concept of ownership, consequence, planning, etc are completely foreign to them. Jobs are just places you go to steal and pilfer as much as you can for your family without getting caught. Money can't be saved because it belongs to the family/tribe. There's no possible way to Westernize them and/or create a successful African Nation or United Africa.

This is common of subsidience farmers, they cannot imagine the future very well and have a fatalistic attitude.

One of my friends worked on a Nigerian Oil Rig and they all beg him for Rolexes and iPads. The kids eat last, the scraps from the table, after the adults scarf everything possible down. Very different from our reality.

All aid to Africa should either be terminated or we should run the place in classic colonial fashion. We only make things worse by dropping aid to them. All that Biafra/Band Aid stuff only ended up extending war and poverty.

When Bono belted that one out and somebody sent money, it ended up in the hands of the warlords and bandits.

Every year Ethiopia experiences some degree of drought, the worst ones bringing famine. But the country historically dealt with this. Some years were worse than others. In 1984 the famine that inspired first Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” and then Live Aid, was very bad and people were dying of starvation. But the cause was less nature than cynical genocide. A fact apparently so easy to discover that an editorial assistant barely out of college did so in a matter of hours at the library.
I asked Bob Keating, a superb young investigative reporter who had just started working with us, to look into this for a story. The assignment was simple — all this money had been raised, where was it going, was it actually doing good?
He discovered it was not doing good, but, horrifically, unimaginably, the exact opposite. The Ethiopian dictator, Mengistu, until then deadlocked in the war, was using the money the west gave him to buy sophisticated weapons from the Russians, and was now able to efficiently and viciously crush the opposition. Ethiopia, then the third poorest country in the world, suddenly had the largest, best equipped army on the African continent.

...

By this time we had all seen the pictures and TV footage of Bob Geldof, the figurehead of Live Aid, bear hugging and playfully punching Mengistu in the arm as he literally handed over the funding for this slaughter. It was on TV now alright, but as an endless, relentless reel of heroic Bob Geldof highlights. He drenched himself in the adulation and no one begrudged him it, until our investigation exposed the holocaust that Live Aid’s collected donations had help perpetrate on the Eritrean independence fighters.
Most damningly, Keating reported that Geldof was warned, repeatedly, from the outset by several relief agencies in the field about Mengistu, who was dismantling tribes, mercilessly conducting resettlement marches on which 100,000 people died, and butchering helpless people. According to Medicins Sans Frontiers, who begged Geldof to not release the money until there was a reliable infrastructure to get it to victims, he simply ignored them, instead famously saying: “I’ll shake hands with the Devil on my left and on my right to get to the people we are meant to help.”

"Thank God Geldof Armed Mengistu instead of Feeding Yoooooouuuuuuuuu." - Bono's lyrics should have been.

Whatever Bob Geldof endorses, it'll make things worse. The older I get the more I realize that bleeding hearts on a large scale generally do more harm than good.

Leftists and the Booboisie/Bohos are now opposed to the Working Class. Because Tolerance and Transgender is more important than lives and poverty.

And they completely killed nationalism/tribalism. Don't forget that the old left and the punk movement was actually somewhat nationalistic and surely tribal and def politically incorrect. That's why you see punk legends like Johnny Rotten defect from the left and endorse Brexit, Trump etc. Plus if they subscribed to the modern leftoid agenda they'd be constantly with one foot in prison due to muh violated feelings and harassment accusations. Punk was raw and politically incorrect.

Yep, Mark E. Smith and good old Ringo are behind Brexit as well. Smith of course being a former dock worker.

Also John Cleese, Michael Caine, Roger Daltrey, Joan Collins, and the unbelievably hot Elizabeth Hurley. All the classics.

So true, look at how poor the economic growth is all over Africa. Oh wait, never mind.

Fuck, I wish Puerto Rico could be better. Hurricane fucked things up, but it wasn't doing great, obviously, before that. Don't have to pay international fees to fly there from the US. Decent place to vacation from my one visit. That's sad it's apparently on the level of N. Korea and Venezuela. Ouch. American Territory and all.

You plan your vacations around a $50 fee on an airline ticket?

Funny how DR which is the other half of the same island is one of the top economies in the Caribbean. Fastest growing economy in the America's for years. Maybe not having a completely corrupt government run by the same thieving murdering scum family for decades has some merit.

Honestly, a little bit. Not really though. I fly Southwest for free, so that fee is the only thing I'm paying. Cancun international fees for a family of 4 is close to $300 vs. $44 to PR. Same with most the other international locations SW flies. Not a massive savings, but hey, it's a free night at an average hotel or 3-4 dinners out while on vacation. Plus we travel about 4 times a year, not necessarily international though of course.

I like the Caribbean, so it would be nice if PR was in a little better shape I guess what I was more a less getting at in a convoluted way. I will still likely go there in the next couple of years anyway, so I'm not saying I'm afraid to go there. When you posted that graph, I was taken aback with PR's ranking. I knew it was bad of course, just not N. Korea level bad.

As a Canadian, there aren't many places on this small planet that I'd consider moving to. Even for visits, it's getting scarier. Road trip!

Visit California. We need the money to pay off the extortion racket called pensions.
