This is known.
They insert opinion as counterpoint and then say that proves the statement is false. Or they haggle on the details of a statement, quoting a different “expert” who provides a different or maybe even slightly different number. It’s completely dishonest and is going to be the downfall of all such “fact checkers.”
Any fair minded Democrat or even a Democrat with a few functioning brain cells who looks into this issue will be exposed to the truth. Sadly, most of them are women or womanish-men who think with their FeeLz, and are thus inured to truth, logic, and reasoning.

They aren’t fact checkers. They just say they are. Kind of like a car salesman calls himself your consultant.

I've also seen fact checkers that declare something "false" because one of the (unimportant) details is false or misleading. Don't get me wrong - there's plenty of cases where I would agree that when part of the premise is false, the whole statement is false, but I've seen them rule in ways that looked like very strong bias to me, using a petty detail as an excuse.

Fact checkers also declare things they wish weren't true to be a lie if the media doesnt know the details. " Trump accused Obama of wiretapping Trump Towers, with no evidence whatsoever. 4 pants on fires!" ...and now it's been proven to be true.

Fake news fact checkers using 'fact checking' to distribute more fake news? I am shocked, I tell you, just shocked!

You seem to be getting smarter. Did you double your daily T dose? I hear it does wonders if you mix it with adderall. Whatever it is, don't stop.

Adderall and Russian Propaganda.

"I'll never let your facts get in the way of my TRUTH and faked facts!"

Yeah I doubled my daily dose of (T)otal Exoneration.

Tell me more about the exoneration. Does it make it hard for you to sleep?

That's not dehydration. It's either loose dentures or a seizure. I'm hoping it's just loose dentures, but he's too proud to admit it.

Several months ago the Simon Wiesenthal Center published an article calling me a liar for saying there was a swimming pool at the Auschwitz Main Camp. This is exactly the kind of counterproductive strategy that “exterminationists” can’t seem to get beyond. We all know that there was a swimming pool. We also understand that the presence of this pool IN NO WAY negates the possibility of gassings at Auschwitz. It’s totally irrelevant! There’s no reason to LIE about anything. Just be truthful. Don’t scream “LIAR—THERE WAS NO POOL.” Just rationally explain “yes, there’s a pool, but at best it was for the few favored Main Camp inmates—one of many perks available to preferred inmates—but it is in no way representative of the experience of rank and file inmates—especially Birkenau inmates.” There, doesn’t that feel better? No need to lie. Don’t underestimate the capacity of your audience to take in seemingly contradictory pieces of evidence.

So why do these mainstream “guardians of truth” do it? Why do they lie? Well, I could give you the fancy-pants answer that to command someone’s assent via facts means the facts are powerful, but to command someone’s assent via a lie means that you are powerful.
