Stocks jump after Sanders drops out of presidential race, Dow up 500 points

You can't take your memories of your time with your grandkids when your dead either.

True, but the grand kids get the memories too.

Yup, that was kind of my point as you state. I know the grand kids could get some money too, but when that's the focus until you're 80 fucking years old, you're likely a piece of shit. Dishonest one at that in Bernie's case. Experiences are better than working until 80 and not seeing kids and grandkids, but I guess that moot point was lost.

Wonder if Bernie, and/or a few of his friends he tipped off, bought some SPDRs ahead of his announcement.

Absolutely

They talked to Bernie and he crumbled.

Obama and the DNC are afraid to show Biden actually debate, it will make his dementia more obvious than it was in a large group of losers.

A one on one debate with Bernie would be a disaster for Biden, even if he won the nomination.

Now Biden will only be seen in TV ads which he will be reading.

I'm irrationally irritated. Dem establishment twice c*@k blocked him in my view... and none of the establishment candidates are "likable" enough to win a general election.

The last true Democrat was probably JFK.. and he'd be considered a republican by most ob the left in this day and age.

But what do I know. I'm registered independent, lean conservative on most (but not all) issues and tend to vote libertarian for the top line.

As much as I think the hallmark of a nobel society is how you treat the very least that's better done on a local not a federal level in my view.

Also I never understood how you can be pro choice and anti death penalty or vice versa.. but thats a whole nother issue and I don't want to hijack this thread.

Hijack it! It's Patnet. It's the reason I keep coming back.

Yes and it's the reason I don't think Biden will end up being the nominee. They're going to plug someone else in. I'm pretty convinced of that now. Biden can't win unless he's been playing a game and faking what seems like serious illness. I think they got him as a consensus candidate and then will swap him out. If it was Bernie they would have had to go with him or there would have been riots. Biden is the easier swap out candidate if that makes sense.

Easy.

Baby didn't make any bad choices but the perp did.

I'm only against the death penalty because it's way more expensive than life in prison. I also don't have a problem with abortions early on. Shit's pretty out of hand these days though eh?

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/08/watch-trump-bernie-and-i-agree-u-s-has-been-ripped-off-on-trade/

President Trump said he hopes Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) supporters back him in the 2020 presidential election against presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden because the two agree that the United States’ trade policy must put American workers before corporate interests.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, Trump welcomed Sanders’ supporters to his re-election campaign after the self-described democratic socialist suspended his campaign — leaving Biden as the presumptive Democrat nominee for president.

Trump said he has long held the same positions on trade as Sanders, opposing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and China’s entering the World Trade Organization (WTO) — policies that have cost the U.S. five million manufacturing jobs.

The early window for abortions is a practical compromise not really founded on morals. I support that too while generally opposing abortions. Also exceptions such as rape or health/genetic issues which are really rare. True the death penalty costs too much, I'm ok with life in prison instead as long as there's no parole or early release.

Not a topic I've researched at all. How is the death penalty more expensive than life sentences though? Room and board for say a 25 year old murderer that could live for another 60-70 years? That surely has to be more expensive than injecting someone with poison? Again, not a topic I've looked at ever, so be nice ;)

I am against the death penalty not because murderers do not deserve it, but because there is no restitution for mistakes. Too many inmates convicted of rapes/murder exonerated by new DNA evidence after years in prison. The public does not like to see a hideous rape/murder go unsolved, so the pressure is on for the police to find a perp and get a conviction somehow.

100%. He can't even get through a few minutes of heavily scripted, heavily coached, not-exactly-live "town hall" with several Leftist Youtubers without flubbing and ending up creating word salad. Shit, look at the Dem debates, he would have moments of clarity interspersed with moments of "Hey Fats, I was on the Obama Team. Obamacare! Dog Pony Solider, Corn Pop! This President! Push up fats, thanks for having me here for the Idaho Primary, first in the nation."

In a one-on-one debate, he'll make poor Admiral Stockdale seem coherent and articulate in comparison

https://babylonbee.com/news/bernie-sanders-drops-out-as-campaign-goals-of-locking-everyone-up-destroying-economy-already-achieved

BURLINGTON, VT—Bernie Sanders has dropped out of the presidential race since his campaign goals have already been achieved. These goals consisted mostly of locking everyone up in gulags and destroying the economy.

As the coronavirus panic has already accomplished the aims of his socialistic policies, Sanders realized the country didn't need his public service anymore. Unemployment has skyrocketed, grocery stores have empty shelves, and everyone is confined to their homes on penalty of arrest. This "idyllic paradise" is exactly what Sanders wanted in the first place, so he says he can leave the race satisfied that his vision has been achieved.

I know this one is obviously a meme and made up, but it makes me laugh every time I see it. Word salad is an understatement. More like word blender.
