We started the day after Labor Day. Lasted 2 days. On day 2 a kid who was present day 1 tested positive, we found out there apparently was a huge indoor party in town where all the kids played beer pong. Apparently 14 kids from the party have now tested positive so we likely had 14 kids present on Day 1/Day 2 that had the virus. Here's my take though, given the precautions that we took in school, I seriously doubt anyone else caught it from them while in the building. Out of the building, that's a different story.

We are now virtual for 2 weeks and will return at the end of September.

Kid has a cold - lock down the economy!

In the area of "education" this whole thing is a racket (more than usual). In K - 12 the teachers do less and get paid just the same. In college it's the same except that students (or their parents) are kicking in a bundle of money, too. I wonder how many janitors are taking a full salary even though they are practically the only ones on campus?

I'd like to see the tides turn on the "education" system and everyone start taking country-wide online classes from the best online teacher (a-la Kahn Academy). In-person classes can resume for purposes of test-taking and areas needed in-person instruction.

so, here's an update. One student tested positive in my class. I was 10 ft from that student for a good half an hour. I got tested as a precaution because my FIL is uncompromising. That being said, I likely already had it in Feb and if I do have it again...I'll now have beaten Corona twice.

So is my MIL. But she let me marry her daughter anyway.

Take your Vitamin D! Studies show that it helps for sure with Covid, basically eliminating the need for hospitalization.

Otherwise: why the Holy Fuck are we sending Covid positive college kids home to infect their aging parents and grandparents? Just put em in the dorms and let them party themselves to herd immunity and meanwhile the professors wear masks and distance from the students!

Upon going back, I began supplementing Quercitin, Zinc, Vitamin D, and I've consumed mass quantities of Vitamin C in the form of citrus fruits and hot peppers.

same with me in late Feb - student was talking to me for a while a couple of days before he went down. I did not get even a mild version of corona. Yay, shut down economy and panic

I don’t know why we still pay taxes when schools are not functioning

You likely have immunity. It is highly contagious but anyone who hasn't gotten it yet has a fat chance of having acquired immunity from prior CV infection. Of course of the other person was asymptomatic they also may not have shed much and the low initial viral load wasn't a problem for the immune system.

I think that is actually the goal: shut down the economy and cause panic.

The motive is to somehow stop the populist revolution going on around the world against outsourcing.

Brexit has the same origin as the election of Trump: outsourcing manufacturing and insourcing cheap replacement labor at the expense of citizens

France too. Note how the Gilet Jaunes movement was finally stopped by Wuhan virus panic.

he was very symptomatic, came in a few days after getting sick and coughed on everyone in his circle of friends (passed me in hallway during that time). I felt like crap for a few days in late Jan - mild corona can not be excluded.
