The rapid spread of COVID-19 underscores the need for new treatments. Here we report that cannabidiol (CBD), a compound produced by the cannabis plant, inhibits SARS-CoV-2 infection. CBD and its metabolite, 7-OH-CBD, but not congeneric cannabinoids, potently block SARS-CoV-2 replication in lung epithelial cells. CBD acts after cellular infection, inhibiting viral gene expression and reversing many effects of SARS-CoV-2 on host gene transcription. CBD induces interferon expression and up-regulates its antiviral signaling pathway. A cohort of human patients previously taking CBD had significantly lower SARSCoV-2 infection incidence of up to an order of magnitude relative to matched pairs or the general population. This study highlights CBD, and its active metabolite, 7-OH-CBD, as potential preventative agents and therapeutic treatments for SARS-CoV-2 at early stages of infection.

Our results suggest that CBD can block SARS-CoV-2 infection at early stages of infection, and CBD administration is associated with a lower risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans.

High dose CBD usage in patients is significantly correlated with a reduction in COVID-19 positivity.

CBD inhibits viral replication after SARS-CoV-2 entry into the host cell.

Lol, I hope weed becomes mandatory.

I've been dealing with a lot of headaches when I wake up in the morning. Started smoking before I go to bed, and it seems to help, although one morning woke up with vertigo.

I prefer edibles. Very convenient, and I sleep well.

Smoking anything is bad for you - small particles clog up small lung and circulatory structures. Edibles be the way. If getting high is the objective, do so with an empty stomach. And account for onset lag, or become a piece of furniture.

The problem with edibles, especially when it comes to CBD, it's an inferior form of absorption. This can lead to over-dosing, which can cause liver problems. Tommy Chong wrote a really good article about this last year. Seriously.

My stuff is organic. I know because I grew it. The seeds are not feminized, and local. I always light hemp wick, never hold a lighter to the bowl(no butane). The only bad thing I can think of is when it's almost cashed, I get some vapors from char.

To get high, I have a love hate relationship with edibles. I prefer them, but I've found the consistency even with legal stuff here in IL to be widely variant. Same with CO and WA legal edibles.

Went to a show in Missoula, MT, flew into Spokane, WA. I had 30mg over 6 hours. Was drinking as well. I legitimately couldn't speak English by the end of the night. I've done acid and shrooms, but I'm positive my edible doses were not accurate. I was obliterated.

Same thing happened at another visit to WA and drove to a show in Sandpoint, ID. Got off the plane, popped 10mg and next thing I know I fell asleep in the hotel and ended up missing half the show.

I've also had great times with edibles as well. The negative times have been bad though. My sister swears by them for anxiety, and maybe I'm getting poor product, but I may not take edibles again. I'll puff on a joint or a vape pen for weed, but my usage is dwindling to non-existent.

Acid to this day is my favorite drug. Haven't done it in 15 years, probably won't again, but my god, what a blast. My heart would probably explode now. Doses I took hit me totally different than what I imagine a lot of people have in their mind about it. Tripping on good acid is an amazing experience.

Bad snoring can cause morning headaches if you start to lack air. "obstructive sleep apnea"

My dentist gave me a rec to participate in a sleep apnea study, never followed through on it though.

I wanna go to some small weekend music fest in the country and drop some acid. Seems like I may never get the chance, but that's my dream.

Dude who invented it took micro-doses most of his life. Definitely worth considering if you can find good product, and dose it properly.

I'm a HUGE advocate of hemp and medical hemp, and I spent years in the early 90s working to get it on the ballot, culminating in the successful passage of the California Hemp Initiative in '96. That said, I think the medical benefits of CBD are ridiculously oversold. I'm open to hear the results of well structured studies into its anti-Covid efficacy. Even as one of Hemp's biggest advocates, color me a bit skeptical.

I went through a psychedelic phase in my early 20s, and definitely consider those experiences key to my understanding of the world, and the way the mind perceives it. However, BAD trips can be harrowing. I experienced dying on several occasions, which also helped shape me but I don't care to go through any more dress rehearsals. Thus I haven't touched it since and probably won't again.

As an old hippie dude my age now said back then, "I still like to take acid once every year or three, as a reminder that reality is malleable."
