Gentlemen,

Now that I’m in my 40s, I’ve started researching and taking supplements.

Over the last 5yrs I haven’t taken anything. Prior to that I would take a Centrum vitamin daily for general health along with Biotin for hair/nails.

I’ve noticed that I’ve recently felt inflammation in my elbows and knees particularly in the morning getting out of bed. Nothing serious, but certainly noticeable.

Recently I stopped eating processed carbs and started taking a turmeric supplement which seemed to have had a noticeable impact.

I’m also taking the following

- multi vitamin
- biotin
- fish oil

Will take these for a few weeks and try to report back on how I’m feeling.

If there’s any supplements you take or swear by, do share with the group. Why do you take it and what impact has it had on you?

Thanks!

What does turmeric supplement help you with? I’m also in my 40’s. I exercise regularly, but haven’t taken any supplements. I guess I should.

What I find helpful is to stretch after exercise.

I like Vitamin H.

By which I mean hunger. Could be intermittent fasting, like eating only between noon and 8pm, or taking a whole day off eating.

Sometimes I don't eat for a day, and I think it helps something, hard to say what. I just feel better later, and not just from eating again.

Most food is pure shit. Processed. Even say buying steak or burgers from a really good butcher. It's fucked up meat.

Bought our first 1/2 cow this year and it's better. You have to thaw it out day of preparing, but there's a reason for that. There's no bullshit in the meat to make it last on a truck and shelf for 2-3 weeks. We had to buy another freezer for it, but it's worth it. If you like meat.

Supplements can help for sure, but I'd try to do it naturally if possible. I do take D3, a regular multi-vitamin and some ashwa that's been giving me a bit of help with anxiety and sleep. Movement is the biggest thing. I'm guessing most here sit at desks much of the day. You need at least an hour of dedicated movement or working out.

I'd advise against any weights above 30lbs and preferably body weight workouts. I'll do sit ups with 30lbs on my chest, but I'm a low weight, high rep guy. Know too many people hurt by throwing around heavy weight. Even supposed "trainers" in that realm.

Fact is lean and fit men are more attractive to most women. The hulk types attract the crazy bitches. I've seen it dozens of times.
