Do yourself a favor and run TRS audio cable in the walls, and put XLR/1/4 TRS jacks on wall plates. Also consider where your mixer/amp would be situated and run speaker cables and the other end of the Audio signals from the wall plates. Not having cords all over the floor is much more inviting than having a rats nest of damaged audio cables under feet.

Eh, don't really want to get into this debate but will bite. My kids were formula babies. They're far more athletic and advanced than other kids. Not just me being a dad either. Is it expensive, fucks yeah. I don't think it makes a ton of difference from my experience though. I have 4 SIL's with multiple kids. The one that's breastfed her kid seems the most off. Anecdotal, but still a sample size of 12 nephews and nieces.

Again, anecdotal, but I find kids that I've know to have been breast-fed are super, super needy kids. I don't begrudge any woman though on how she wants to feed a child. Just my observations being a younger dad with a bunch of developing kids around besides my own.

Contamination issues are problematic for sure with formula, but so is a woman feeding a kid from her tit after drinking a bottle of wine. There's not perfect path so to speak.

Agreed. Breastfeeding has been shown to be healthier overall in studies, but the era where formula was a convenience or status luxury to display - mostly in the 80s and 90s - is over. I don't think women who can breastfeed deliberately choose formula, it's not even necessarily easier than breastfeeding. It's a necessary option and today's formula is pretty close to breast milk and does a good job at nourishing infants. It's more important to switch your baby to real food at some point than to debate breastfeeding - which you obviously should do while you can without significant issues - over formula. Introducing "real" wholesome foods around 6-12 months and ween off the milk slowly. Most babies can readily switch to cows milk at 1 year to continue to get the benefits of mammalian milk.

The formula is fine - it's the best it has been since it was invented. It's easy to check on the ingredients. Most if not all is non gmo and many are organic. The formula is used to "fatten" infants who are at risk of losing weight as their brain and other life-sustaining functions need all the energy they can get in the beginning while the stomach is not cut out for "real" food. Much of the lining of the intestines/stomach closes during the first year, hence liquid food. But it comes with the understanding that you transition them off to real food anytime between 6-18 months.

So here's what I know about formula, from research and personal experience. With our second daughter(commercial formula), it caused extreme constipation. With our youngest(Earth's Best organic), we notice a HUGE difference in weight. She's not underweight, she's just not bloated like our 2nd was, and like almost all babies we see are. Same principle we see at work with people who eat junk, versus people who eat healthy.

Also, even the organic labeled formula's are not guaranteed. Someone ran a test recently on organic baby products, and found a number of them still contain non-organic, unhealthy things like heavy metals.

So no, it's not fine, not even close. But if people still haven't learned that after the past two years, I have little hope for their future health.

So? Not the first one, and most def not the last.

At 15 to 35 dollars a pop, for a soy based product don't tell me it's not profitable.

If the mom doesn't have the gams for breastfeeding, that's one thing. One thing we learned with our breastfed kid is that the key is frequency. 5-10 times a day usually causes milk (and tit size) to ramp up to meet demand.

One thing formula doesn't do is provide infants and early toddlers with maternal immunity through antibodies in the milk. Growth issues aside, I don't recall our kid ever getting ear infections, while that was common for both my wife and me (both formula fed).
