lol they are mostly white leftoids, literally sit in every bank, insurance, hoa, and hog all kinds of other shit services people cannot escape these days and fuck shit up - they don't know how to use modern computer systems, they regularly lose emails or never read them since they never check they misconfigured spam folders, they misread messages in their electronic systems with their fucking -8 horn-rimmed glasses and are just fucking slow and incompetent as fuck. No matter how much disdain one may have for the poor work ethic of millenials, the boomers who raised them are no better. Please retire early on xiden stimmy checks and let younger, computer-literate folks take over. And stop communicating the same requests via paper mail 5000 FUCKING TIMES when you have gotten the answer already 4999 times!!! you know !climate change! manbearpig and stuff!! Signed - Gen X

Boomers were raised with black and white TV and rotary dial phones. The pending information era resulted in successive time compactions i.e. when new computer and communication efficiencies came in, time became increasingly compacted to stuff more shit into faster, shorter bursts coming even faster. Information overload is a thing. Everything is new, more complicated and requires information wading to bring stuff up to helter skelter speed. More efficiency, more rushed, less time to think.

Subsequent generations became 'faster', but scattered and shallow. They think in paragraphs rather than long articles or books. Boomers went deep at a more leisurely pace. Boomers are deeper in a shallow world of staccato sound bites.

I think some of our present political and social problems exist because the subsequent generations are rushing around like chickens with their heads cut off, but they have limited capacity to evaluate information. They want conclusions with no process, whereas the process is necessary for correct conclusions.

Yeah, things are moving at a ridiculous pace.

Too much change creates instability and sense of loss of control.

Boomers often have self-responsibility, something that is particularly lacking in Millies, where EVERYTHING is society/somebody else's fault.

I know a Millie chick whose mom paid for her Catholic School, College, etc. and now in her mid 30s is beginning to plump up. Her decent job is her own doing, but the fact that she exploded to 190lb is somehow her mom's fault from her childhood. Even though she only recently balloned, has lived by herself for over a decade, and the mother is thin as a rail at 60 and always had been. She also expects her mom to cook for parties, but she herself once paraded around saying she 'cooked this time' by making a cheese and cracker plate.

I've noticed fast food prioritizes Doordash, Ubereats, and the Drive-thru over customers actually in the lobby.

I always turn around and leave when I see they are part of a door dash operation. I only deal with joints that have their own delivery people.
Those Social Network delivery systems put a 20% or more premium on your food, and not always to make the food better. They have to put so much into fancy delivery packaging, they cut back on ingredients of what they put in. Often going for a common supplier so their hot food is in compliance with the service. You can order a burger and fries from three different places using Door dash, and when you get it, they will all look identical.

Give me the places that wrap your steak sub in a wax paper and stuffs in a greasy brown paper bag. Something you'll never get from doordash.
The paper and plastic goods, cost them almost as much as the raw food cost them.
24   Ceffer   2022 Jul 27, 10:40am

BoomFuck resentment is falling into the subversive trap of social division. Generations have been purposely frozen in a state of immaturity in their educational experiences where they are encouraged to blame everything on their predecessors rather than seeing the glaring threats from the ones who manipulate them and misdirect them.

Forget the BoomFucks and stop looking for a free tit to suckle on.

Incompetent dinosaurs in the workplace have always been there (seniority) and probably always will. I see no particular relation to BoomFucks. Work at a government job and one will be dazzled by the young incompetents who never lose their jobs.

My wife says she would be a dedicated shopper at any store that completely eliminated plastic. It can be done.

I never use the self check for a myriad of reasons.

1) They were developed and introduced to the American markets just 6 months to a year after our Enterprise all sent our best computer developers and programmers home to go pound sand, shortly after 911 and the tech crash. (outsourced from India or Baltic State programmers working for peanuts)

2) When they rolled out, most every time you used one, you had to take everything off and start all over again.

3) Now many times, you still have to wait for an employee to come over and put in a code, to allow the machine to complete your order.

4) I don't like wasting my time on unnecessary steps, and using self checkout seems to be an unnecessary step. As you still end up having to wait for a cashier to provide an action before you order can be completed.

So I always use a live cashier even if there are ten empty unused self checkout lanes, and I have to be the third person in line behind two big fat welfare queens, with a basket full of shit.
27   Patrick   2022 Jul 27, 10:47am

I kind of enjoy talking to cashiers, so that's another reason.

I disagree.

There's a very deliberate effort to misinform the public at every step possible precisely because the younger the person, the more familiar they are with directly accessing information without a curator.

The boomer generation, more than any other generation including the Silent Generation, implicitly trusts the "authorities", they trust television, they trust "news". I can see directly, that the younger generation is not as trustful. The new rebelling generation are "conservatives", and they went through their liberal phase, but they left it far sooner than I did. They get their information (such as it is) from places like 4chan. They KNOW that's filled with "glowies", they are aware of bots, they are aware of propaganda.

The facade is falling apart and it's because of the younger generations. Facebook is for "old people" to them. They are leading the charge for getting actual information.

They are quick to discard FALSE information.

It was Generation X that started to hear things that "didn't sound right" so they would rush to Google to find out. 15 years ago, that was a good place to go, and a false story would be discredited, SLOWLY, because the boomers would fight against it. If you criticized Obama, well it was because you were secretly a Bush supporter. You can freely criticize Biden without being called a Trump supporter now. The false dichotomies that I grew up are failing now.

The government, or at least the people that control the government, are frantically jumping from place to place to cover up their fuckups that are exposed more and more quickly. People compile contradictions of the authorities to show they aren't credible. Take this for example:

original link

Start at 0:45 seconds in at the beginning. Notice the music - that's the music I grew up with. Listen to the end at 1:42:44.

Remember, your viewpoint of "the young" is often influenced by the media and it's widely regarded as a joke now, at least among the young.

Think about it, name a current "movie star" - a current "music star". They have lost their influence not because people are getting stupider, or paying less attention, they are less distracted.

You know what is ironic? It's actually easier to find real information based on who is being attacked by the establishment. If a person hasn't been deplatformed, or censored in some way, be suspicious. The Last American Vagabond was kicked off youtube.

Most boomers are gone from the workplace, especially in govt jobs with retirement after 30 years. The youngest Boomers are 58 this year.

Trump And Bush Junior were early Boomers. Obama was a late Boomer. By the time the boomers came into power the deep state, set up by the Greatest Generation, was in control. It's octopus like tentacles reaching out into every level of politics and government. When WAS our last fair election?

It was the "greatest" generation that put up both Bush senior and JFK. Some conspiracy theorists believe Bush was complicit in the coup that was the JFK assassination and the intelligence communities have run our country ever since.

The greatest is dead. The silent generation, including Bush Jr., Pelosi, Biden, and Sanders, that they put in power are overdue for retirement or death.

It is time that gen X and the millenials step up and make America great again.

We are Boomers, deal with us, we only have a couple more decades on this earth. Please make yourselves useful while you're waiting for us to die.

Disagree. I started in a particular government workplace in 2007(I’ve worked for govt for a lot longer than that, but this one is a good Petri dish). Almost 200 employees. I estimate that 20-25 did nothing or almost nothing all day. Once the first Gen Xer promoted into a division head position, the change was lightning paced for the Gov. Immediately no one could just do nothing. Measurements were put in place and everyone had to produce something. That took about 6 months. Within 5 years, the last of the “do nothing” employees was gone. Furthermore I noticed the same change across the entire entity I work for. More and more Gen Xers moved into management positions and the boomers were out and the more efficient the govt got. Everyone I work with produces. A few are below average, a lot are average. Some are really top notch. The effort now is to push those that are below average and average to produce more in terms of quality and quantity. I’ll note that staffing is waaay down from a decade ago.

I will say this does not include entities that allow employees to work from home, a concept I am 100% against for government employees. Amazingly, or perhaps not, most of the Departments in the entity I work for that still have employees working from home are entirely headed by boomers.

I don’t get it. All working from home in terms of govt workers indicates to me is that they are over staffed. If I were heading one of those Departments I’d be completely ok with losing half the staff in exchange for everyone remaining coming back to the workplace. We would get the work done just fine.

A lot of younger people I know have strange ideas; they "deserve" things because they are "good people"; they also deserve "help" (money, loans, etc).
I tell them they deserve nothing they don't earn.
Young females sometimes are shocked when I say "it's fuck or walk if you're broke baby".

LOL! I would say you score a 9 out of 10 for BoomFuck Executive Cruelty. So many widdle hurt feewings.

The BoomFucks I know don't resemble anything like the bogeyman social division iconography. Everything from poor, brain damaged hippies and homeless to the corrupt, blackmailed and paid off politicians we see on the world stage. There are also scads of 'BoomFuck' inheritors who have houses and shit in California from dying BoomFucks, or BoomFucks who have moved to easy living facilities and just gave their houses to kids. I am surrounded by them in my hoods.

Clinton was a boomer.

I think who really setup this shit show, was the Nazi's kid, George H. Bush - the ex-CIA director. I think it's quite obvious that the intelligence agencies run the nation now. They can lie to congress, they get bills passed for them (like the Patriot Act) which gives them great power which are entirely unconstitutional, they lie with impunity to the public all the time. You want to change the country - you'll have to petition them, but above them is the Federal Reserve.

I can tell you how you can fix this. Work from home employees need to be in front a camera and a screen that is always on while they are at work.

I didn't work with him, but a colleague did - he worked from home, and on his computer at home he had his webcam on, and at work at his desk, was a tablet this showed his face. If you wanted to talk to him, you'd walk over to his cubicle, and have a chat. He was always online while at work and he was always present at work.

I wouldn't object to doing this.
36   Ceffer   2022 Jul 27, 12:56pm

With Guv employees, having them work from home might be OK. The chaff can chug Colt 45 in their slippers but won't get in the way and require workarounds for the ones who actually do the work. They just collect their glorified welfare checks. Honestly, in government jobs, there is so much time and resource waste working AROUND the fuckheads to get things done.

RECENT COLLEGE GRADS ARE STUPID. I was certainly stupid when I first left college. Arrogant and self important which didn't last too long. Yeah, I learned a bunch of useless bullshit in college, work is entirely different.

We are all stupid when we first get out of college. Give her a little time.

Come on, if you weren't an arrogant twat when you first left college, you were a freak. We all start out that way, until we get smacked down by somebody that has decades more experience than we do. Most of my learning has been on the job and / or on my own. I worked with a guy that was a technician that later became a EE. He was like a god.

ME: "Hey, this board is acting flakey I think, Can I try another one?"
HIM: "Here, let me take a look. Probably there's a reflection off this chip on this trace. I bet if I put a picofarad cap... here, that will attenuate the signal and fix it. Give it to me, it will only take a second to soldier this on."

And it fucking worked.

He could tell by inspection of the board where reflections were likely to be happening. The conversation was a little longer than that, I would explain what bits were (sometimes) fucked up. That guy was worth 4x whatever he was being paid. I still can't do what he did, but I can SUGGEST it, when I experience similar stuff, I can SUGGEST it to the tech but I don't know. He fucking knew.

That story is from 25 years ago, I don't remember his name, but I still respect him. I hope he did very well in life. Brilliant man. I'll always respect the people that started doing the "grunge" work and went above and beyond me. I think that's a large part of the problem today, most executive twats don't appreciate or even understand your job. I think a lot of failures is they don't understand what is possible or reasonable.
38   Ceffer   2022 Jul 27, 1:05pm

I'm still stupid. I have learned that everything I was taught about politics and history are likely false and I have been living in a world of bizarre, imposed delusions and misdirections. However, knowing you are stupid is a sign of progress (I hopium).

The problem is that the 'real histories' have been methodically hidden and it's hell to try to figure out what they were.

Haha - no, people who think they are smart are stupid, because they think they have nothing to learn. People who think they are stupid are smart, because they realize they have more to learn.

It's the Peter Principle. You'll always be stupid, all you can do is try to be less stupid. Ignorance is infinite.

I heard an interesting saying among the native Americans - "a lie has many stories, the truth has only one".

Remember, a lie is a fictional story - how many stories have you read or watched that didn't have at least ONE plot hole? When you find a story with no contradictions, it's POSSIBLE that's the real story.

I only look for lies - the truth - if it's possible to come to - comes much later. Most of what I hear I accept as being erroneous but there are people that try in real time. People who try to be correct often fall over themselves to correct their previous errors.

Let's see, I thought the Russian / Ukrainian war would be over quickly because of the war between S. Ossetia and Georgia - that was over in under 24 hours and other people I listened to thought the same. Now, I think it's going to be a long drawn out proxy war, because Russia sees it as a war between the United States and Russia, and Russia is just beating the US into submission. I predict this war will go on for years now. The Vietnam war literally bankrupted the United States.

But I could be wrong, I often have been. Hope I'm wrong. I don't care how this war ends honestly, I just want it to end. I'm tired of my nation being assholes to the world. This war didn't have to happen.

I had that exact idea. Some years back I wanted to work from home but management didn't want to let any new employees have the privilege - only employees who were hired on as remote from years prior when remote was widely acceptable were allowed to do it. I was going to pitch that to my manager - I'll setup an always on video chat in my office so people can just walk in and talk to me without needing to do any junk like send an IM to ask if I can join a video chat or phone call etc...

I never did it though, and covid has allowed me to be remote for years now, although that will likely end soon.

You can suggest it now.

If your job is sitting at your desk and typing on a keyboard, like my job is, why not? Perhaps you need to share your screen as well. It gives you a connection to work, and if you need to be in, go in.

BUT - I hate working from home. When I do this, it's not that I work from home, it's that I sleep and live at work. I hate "working from home".
