They are sometimes confusing to others.
Are they a race? Are they a religious group?
When it's convenient, they claim religious autonomy to do things as they see fit, regardless of what the rules are.
I have an old friend who is Jewish and she talks sometimes as if her grandparents were freed slaves; we whites should recognize her unique background.

Sometimes I joke with a younger guy I know about the shortest books I see in the store "Jewish Revolutionary War Heroes", etc.
