The obvious solution here. Everyone start paying at the stores. When the stores are always crowded with a line of people out the door waiting to pay there phone bills, perhaps they will reconsider there policy.

Let's hope Verizon customers are of high moral fiber, based in the fundamental principal of a situation, and they will act accordingly. Like Netflix found out the hard-way.

This fee reminds me of some stuff done by BoA and Netflix earlier this year.

What they should have done was just raise the rates of all new phone contracts by $2. They would have gotten a lot less negative press on the whole issue. Some companies are just plain stupid.

Welp!

The FCC started an investigation and Verizon stepped down.
I bet it was more like a phone call from the heads at Verizon, calling in a favor to save face. The rumbling from their customers were far more detrimental to their stock price in the next 6 months, than ANYTHING the FCC would do.

Netflix and BoFa never recovered from the Customer recoil, the FCC giving them an out, by saying we were scared away by the FCC. Is a better fate than subscribers bailing on them.

I expect in 2012, the trend will be Customer base will be holding companies hostage over what they charge.
Social media calling for walk outs, and dumping carriers to protest monthly Bills.

Ya Hear me Xfinity, and all of the Cable companies.
