While Obummer is certainly not the right guy to do this job with his constant race-baiting, you make a valid point. Screaming racism is the dumbest thing to do here and it is also utterly misplaced. Many cops are black or Latino and they would react the same way for the reasons you mentioned. They are more afraid of their lives when facing a black man with a weapon vs a white man with a weapon, and the statistics justify that human behavior, which is fear and warranted prejudice. One solution is to reform the prison system and do away with victimless crimes, such as drug consuming and dealing (among consenting adults). This would primarily help black people in poorer socio-economic areas and prevent them from being primed for a criminal career, and eventually the normalizing crime rates would change the sentiment among officers.

There are people who say that blacks routinely get killed - in incidents which merely result in arrest/citation for whites? How dare they say that! Why, people who say things like that are da real racists.

The statistics simply do not corroborate that, there are far more white (I consider Latinos and Asians white) people killed by police than black. If you factor in the percentage of population of blacks vs the rest the numbers are almost even, then you have to add in the higher proportion of crimes (under current law) committed by blacks and there is no reason to suspect a killing bias.

This has nothing to do with triggering, it's about uniting a nation and finding solutions that work for its problems instead of riling people up for a race war. I do think though that in proven cases cops should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and that this hasn't happened often enough. But this also pertains to cases of people of all colors.

So, to summarize: Whites are presumed innocent, but blacks are not. And it's OK because, as a race, blacks commit more crimes.
