Logan @ # 4
This means Dems are getting dumber & dumber
although they were always dumb & seemed to be social fraternity.
marcus says you made your bed says
Good graphic.
Fucking lazy idiots.
Clinton 60,467,245
Trump 60,071,650
Compare those numbers to the 2012 election:
President Obama 65,915,795
Mitt Romney 60,933,504
Previous popular vote
Bush in 2004 62,040,610
McCain 59,948,323
So Trump beats McCain in total popular probably won't catch Romney or Bush
But... Clinton just couldn't get the progressives to back her in full, many left wing people voted for her but clearly you can see the drop off
Stein has 1,237,116
Johnson 4,123,062
Even if all of Stein voters voted for Clinton, not sure if that would swing the electoral votes.... so look to more of lack of energy from the real real far left ... who you can see didn't vote like they did in 2008 and 2012.
Trump caused the lack of enthusiasm in Clinton because he spent a lot of efforts framing the narratives against her.
Denying your opponent a vote is just as effective as getting yourself a vote.
Trump caused the lack of enthusiasm in Clinton because he spent a lot of efforts framing the narratives against her.
That is a very valid thesis for undecided voters.
From my view... the real hard left... thought of Clinton as a Republican, always.
All these leaks just affirmed what they think of the DNC.
That group, none of them voted for Clinton and now want all the DNC fired and Bernie to run in 2020
Look for Ellison to be pushed into the head of the DNC now
I too thought of her as a Republican, but not a true Goldwater Girl.
But the SJWs are going too far. At least Trump can win this narrative war.
America is going to join the EU.
But according to the left, Clintons popular vote win was by a statistically significant amount!
So Trump beats McCain in total popular probably won't catch Romney or Bush
These numbers really need to be scaled by population. So that idiots don't think I'm cheating, I'll put them as a percentage of the population
Year : winner : percent of vote : number of votes : population
2000 : Bush : 17.9% : 50.5M : 282M : lost popular vote
2004 : Bush : 21.2% : 62M : 293M
2008 : Obama : 22.9% : 69.5M : 304M
2012 : Obama : 21% : 56.9M : 314.1M
2016 : Trump : 18.6% : 60M : 323M : lost popular vote
So, Trump's turnout was as bad as Bush's. Nader took 2.7% in 2000. Johnson and Stein took 4% in 2016. The 3rd party votes IMO are a rejection vote. It's the concerned citizen's version of staying home. This allowed unpopular Republicans to win the electoral college while losing the popular vote and getting terrible turnouts themselves.
Trump's results do not seem like the beginning of a movement. 2016 and 2000 seem like years where Democrats stayed home after being underwhelmed by 8 yrs of centrist Democrats in the White House.
But according to the left, Clintons popular vote win was by a statistically significant amount!
President Obama 65,915,795
Clinton 60,467,245
The left has spoken, they didn't love Clinton as much as Obama and didn't back her up
Elections have consequences,
It's time to move on
But according to the left, Clintons popular vote win was by a statistically significant amount!
You've proved in another thread that you don't know what statistical significance is.
Trump's results do not seem like the beginning of a movement
At the start of the election night, Trump own polls weren't good... only when exit polls really started kicking in that they started to get bullish
This is my honest take, I think I said this in other threads months ago
Trump wins, if Bernie people don't come out and support Clinton in full force.
Republicans didn't grow their vote ... some didn't vote and some went to Johnson
But Clinton gap down is massive...
I can tell you this from observations
I only have 6,400 facebook friends so the scale isn't big at all...
However, Young Turk watches and Clinton Voters didn't get a long and a lot of those people didn't vote for Clinton
I went to Bernie's rally in Irvine and I could see the hate for Clinton was real ...
But Clinton gap down is massive.
Well, you were right. It was always the potential downfall for Hillary. It might have been people sick of the Clinton / Bush dynasties. It might have been the email scandal. It might have been the Wikileaks. It might have been the weight of the right wing conspiracies about Clinton. And it might have been her centrist policies on the economy and the environment. We can only speculate. It it was the policies, those non-voting Bernie supporters will probably end up regretting their non-vote in 5 to 10 years.
It was always the potential downfall for Hillary
My friends who voted for Jill Stein don't care that Trump won, they didn't want Clinton and want the DNC to clean shop. Mind some of these people hated Bernie for supporting Clinton too
The Democrat party is falling apart. They are following The Labour's footstep to move further left, likely making themselves unelectable for years. They may please some on the left, but the silent majority has no appetite for that.
Perhaps Mark Cuban for 2020?
It is too soon to rely on popular vote counts, because votes are still being counted. As of last night, California had "at least" 4 million votes to count, and planned to continue counting until at least Monday. People are relying on polls, which have proven unreliable this year. Once the actual counts are certified, we will have confirmed numbers on which to base interpretations and other opinions.
What's your source for the graph ?
It doesn't make sense. With this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_the_United_States_presidential_elections
(see percentages)
and with estimates I've seen that 56% of voters voted. Something doesn't make sense.
America is great, was great and will be great. We have solid demographics compared to the rest of the world. We have over 100 trillion dollars in financial assets, over 155 million, working men and women, the biggest military in the world, friendly neighbors, and two oceans as borders. We are going to be fine.
Granted, this election was ugly. What I saw on social media during this election, not just from the pathetic cowardly trolls who hide behind fake names, but from non-affiliated people, was disgusting.
We can’t, as adults, treat other people this way. I can always forgive young people for their lack of integrity as they’re learning to become adults. However, both the left and right resorted to crass verbal abuse during this election and we have to be better than that and set a better example for our children.
Speak like your kids and parents are watching.
America will be fine. I, for one, don’t believe that Trump will act like Hitler or do anything that the fascist movement of Germany did. The inherent strength of our system and our people will prevent that from ever happening.
We are still Americas and we always will be! Have faith in our country and our people even if you don’t agree with their politics.

Even if Trump wanted to, he would not be able to be a Hitler. We have checks and balances.
The fact is, Presidential candidates say a lot of crazy things, and make a lot of unrealistic promises. Once they are in the White House, very little change emerges.

Well, Logan, wages as a percentage of profits are HORRIBLE. That pushes down effective demand. Effective demand is too low. http://www.talkmarkets.com/content/bonds/reflation-cannot-save-trump-from-a-painful-recession?post=112162&uid=4798
Chart don't lie Logan.
Trump isn't a dummy.
He knows the Soros' the Buffets, the Mark Cubans and the Krugmans are going to pull their money out of the economy and crash the markets, and expect Trump to flounder on the ecconomic colapse.
Trump needs a man who aint affraid to crank up the QE printing press and make Small Business Loans out of it. What Obama should have been doing all along.
Move along Next!
Well, Logan, wages as a percentage of profits are HORRIBLE. That pushes down effective demand. Effective demand is too low.
You are so funny Gary. What happens when there is a loss?
Trump was not only voted in by the electorate, he was pulled in by the NSA and FBI lackeys. The spooks has spoken.
She must have done some Shit for them to want her so bad.
Effective demand is too low.
Consumption has been the best part of the cycle, domestic investment light, which is typical in mature countries unless they're building out for growing labor force
Did anyone else here get a death sentence on facebook
I died on the internet yesterday but Hell makes good food
My friends who voted for Jill Stein don't care that Trump won, they didn't want Clinton and want the DNC to clean shop.
you have some smart friends, learn from them
you have some smart friends, learn from them
At least Jill got 1% is what I tell them
Clinton 60,839,922 47.8%
Trump 60,265,858 47.3%
Johnson 4,152,009 3%
Stein 1,250,391 1%
You are so funny Gary. What happens when there is a loss?
A loss of what? Labor has already lost and it is impacting GDP and the business cycle. http://www.talkmarkets.com/content/economics--politics/projecting-a-fed-rate-path?post=112317&page=3&uid=4798
Consumption has been the best part of the cycle
That is true. But it is coming to an end, although stimulus may cause stagflation: http://www.talkmarkets.com/content/economics--politics/projecting-a-fed-rate-path?post=112317&page=3&uid=4798
But it is coming to an end,
We are fine in America..
No over investment thesis in this cycle that will create that supply and demand imbalance and demographics are only now starting to get better
