What the GRUBHUB CEO said and what the CEO said he said
In his "clarification":
I did not ask for anyone to resign if they voted for Trump. I would never make such a demand.
But in his letter he said:
Further I absolutely reject the nationalist, anti-immigrant and hateful politics of Donald Trump.
If you do not agree with this statement then please reply to this email with your resignation because you have no place here.

Technically he did not say if you voted for trump turn in your resignation BUT he did say if you don't agree with his characterization of trump (and if you agreed with Trump you presumably voted for him) email your resignation.
Sounds like he is splitting hairs because he is probably getting a lot of immediate negative reaction and is worried about shareholder suits that would result if the fourth quarter earnings plummet- similiar to that guy who decided everyone was going to make no less than ($75K?) causing a loss of employees and of profits
It's OK. He is a librul and emotions overcame him. Hope he spends some time in his safe space, with Mommy and hot porridge and Snuggles..

And that continuous and overtly threatening denigration of alternative viewpoints was an absolutely critical pillar of support for Trump.
Matt Maloney, Grubhub CEO, and millions like him who are utterly intolerant of even calmly expressed dissent from The Narrative continue to be one of Trump's greatest assets.
Couldn't have done it without you, Matt.
You stupid Rep/Con/Teas.
This is a great FREE MARKET,UNREGULATED ,"CORPORATIONS ARE PEOPLE", ENTREPRENEURIAL,JOB CREATING,BUSINESS.
You TRASH want to interfere with FREE ENTERPRISE.
Hope the economy collapses & all of you lose your jobs.
I wore my Trump shirt Wednesday to work. I'm only about 3 out of 200 employees that voted Trump.
Well, considering this is the new "mommy" that idea may have some positive aspects...

GrubHub CEO sold company stock right before doing this:

Grub Hub is toast anyway. I saw him interviewed on Bloomberg a couple of weeks ago. Came across as a complete tool. Arrogant and in complete denial about how they were loosing market share to copy-cat operations who were more focused on local delivery.
Law suits ranging from hostile work environment to shareholder suits for avoidable losses will soon follow

Excellent article!
The answer, I think, is blindness more severe than the usual charge of hypocrisy and intolerance by the left. The righteous can’t possibly be intolerant, think the anointed. We know that, but it goes beyond feeling no need for introspection of their own values. It’s so deep that it also never even occurs to them to worry whether others might perceive them to be intolerant — even when millions of dollars are on the line.
That’s what happened here and we’re seeing it frequently, especially in the press. Most Americans now say they know the media have exaggerated Trump’s rhetoric and flaws (though I’m not defending him here). For the press, it’s the same question as for Matt: How can they be so stupid as to insult so many of their own readers?
You’d think this would have ended with the election. “Hey, wait a minute, maybe it’s possible almost half of Americans aren’t bigoted, uneducated hayseeds from the Midwest†— you’d think that would have occurred to them.
Nope, not yet.
having used grubhub in the past, i'm not surprised that the company is run by a fool.
the customer service was horrible. if the restaurant doesn't deliver, good luck trying to get a refund. they won't respond to email, calls.
i stopped using it after a few months.
eat24 has stellar customer service in comparison. they call me immediately if i submit an order and the restaurant doesn't respond, sometimes after 10PM. been usign them for years and never had a problem.
I will stop using their service because I do not "tolerate hateful attitudes."
I prefer UberEATS anyway.
This ought to fix it:
In a tweet Thursday that was later deleted, Maloney said: "Grubhub does not tolerate hate and we are proud of all our employees — even those who voted for Trump."
Maloney later issued a statement saying his email advocated for inclusion and tolerance and that Grubhub doesn't discriminate based on political beliefs.

Looks like he might be backtracking.
Anyhow, it is extremely stupid to mix business with politics when emotions run high.
Most people are not the Teflon Don. What they say can and will harm them.

Right! The lack of common sense is reason enough to fire a CEO.
reason enough to fire a CEO.
Sure as long as termination package is nullified by board of directors

CEO clarifies says that he did not mean what has been reported: http://media.grubhub.com/media/press-releases/press-release-details/2016/Inclusion-and-Tolerance-in-the-Workplace/default.aspx
