Four members of the Chinese military have been charged with breaking into the computer networks of the credit reporting firm Equifax Inc. and stealing the personal information of roughly 145 million Americans, the Justice Department said Monday, blaming Beijing for one of the largest hacks in history to target consumer data.

The hackers in the 2017 breach collected names, addresses, Social Security and driver’s license numbers and other information stored in Equifax’s databases. The intrusion damaged the company’s reputation and underscored China’s increasingly aggressive and sophisticated intelligence-gathering methods.

So...should we have free trade with China???

The ChiComs also hacked into the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) database for security clearances.

Combine the OPM hacking with hacking into Equifax, the ChiComs have a lot more intel information.

Besides that they can generate revenue by selling the hacked information on the black market to organized crime that is interested in financial fraud.

The fucking technology whiz kids used DDoS attacks to transfer 7 petabytes of data.
But we have since hired external consultants, so it will never happen again.

The fucking competition used digital nukes to make a mess.
But we have since told them to not do it again, so it will never happen again.

The fucking North Koreans used vulnerabilities in a 3rd party solution to make a mess.
But we have since hired external consultants, so it will never happen again.

I'm sure glad our government would never do the same.

Booger says

lol that's actually a really good idea. I cant even count how many times I've run into crap csv reading/writing code that cant handle the format properly and bugs out on csv control characters like comma, double quote, and new line.
