I have a notion that the Republican "leadership" were very grateful to be rid of Trump. It has also been said that they raise more money (their true raison d'etre) being out of power and posing as Opposition to Leftist Lunacy.

Like Trump did? The makers know what they are in for if they buck the deep state. Most would rather enjoy the fruits of their labors and not have family and friends be demonized. The maker would have to be not only someone independently rich, but one who enjoys a fight.

My business in OC went on for 20 yrs. I worked closely with govt regulators and it was very interesting how at the beginning they would bend over backwards to make sure we were ok and always operational. When I sold in 2014, it wasn’t bad but nothing like before. Now it’s absolutely horrible. In this business we needed govt agency approval for everything and now approvals take 6-12 months and that’s if the regulators “feel” the company can handle it.
