From a reader:

I've commented to a few others about my perceptions, exactly the same as in the article above.

This is a major reason I suspect that your "Wuhan" virus is my "Ft Detrick" virus -- that the US bioweapons people created it and released it overseas to make it look like it came from there, to cover the criminal failure and looting of our one-percenters, who have wrecked our economy with their policies of peasant labor in across the Rio Grande, skilled labor deported overseas, create a financialization economy to replace our once-unrivaled manufacturing economy, no taxes or penalties for hi-tech, banks, wall street etc.

I was interested in getting a phone with good privacy, the Librem, but they can't say when it will be available because they can't get parts.

My laptop is dying too, and I looked into the Dell XPS 13, but guess what? Six week lead time because of supply chain issues, and they won't even commit to six weeks.

From what I've heard they are having a heck of a time getting soybeans shipped to China.

Hard to read the itemized pricing. Is it the "MVA" line that looks to be $10900?

Market Vehicle Adjustment. Yeah that's dealer add on and only a moron pays it.

Heard the same, and add walnuts, almonds, etc ag crops that used to take a trip across the pacific when the cargo ships would return to asia. Apparently the ships make it back quicker without a return load in order to pick up more shit to bring over here and dump. They’re making more money to have one way trade.

That’s correct. That civic is for sale in Montclair CA, if you look at the sticker. My sister confirmed that all new cars (of the ones she is looking at as she is trying to find a replacement for hers) she has found in the LA are have a $10,000 to $16,000 MVA on them regardless of brand/model. And people are still buying them, it’s absolutely clown world out there.

Electricity:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/02/08/national-grid-pays-households-ration-power-use/?source=patrick.net

Demand for electricity is set to soar in coming decades as millions of people ditch their petrol and diesel cars for electric models and swap gas-fired boilers for electric heat pumps or hydrogen made from renewable electricity, as part of the Government’s push to cut carbon emissions.

This will happen at the same time as coal and gas-fired power stations make way for more and more wind and solar power, which are intermittent, requiring greater management of the grid to make sure demand always matches supply to prevent possible blackouts.

So Mazda sent my daughter a $5000 incentive to turn in her CX30 lease early. If anything it should have been a key swap affair, her keys for the new ones.
The payments should have stayed the same. We called up the salesman that I have leased all 10 of my Mazda's from over the years. After going over the available stock and crunching the numbers, the best he could do, was $365 a month. She's paying $187 now.

So I told Andrew as we were walking out empty handed...

You know when She(my daughter) was a baby, She never learned to talk. We took her to every specialist we could find, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her either.
It broke our hearts that our baby girl was going to grow up a mute, and never say a word. Then one day when she was about seven, my daughter made her some toast and she looked at it and said... 'HEY this toast is BURNT!" The wife looked at it and said ah, you're right let me make you anoth... Oh my god you talked, overcame with Joy the wife was screaming ecstatically doing backflips and summersaults of joy. Finally she looked at our daughter and said. 'Why did you wait so long to say your first word?' to which she replied.

"Until Now Everything was OK!"

He laughed and said that was good, then caught the subtle intent of my joke.
I said as I walked out the door. Fix this by time her lease is up, or we'll start looking at other brands.

This is why I bought Tesla stock. Dealers are screwing themselves out of existence long term. Tesla’s way of selling cars is the future … no haggle or markups and we deliver it to your door is making everyone buy one. I see neighbors who never would have considered a Tesla a few years ago with them in their driveways.

People will remember the dealer that marked up their vehicle $10k. Supply and demand be damned. I know they hiked prices this year… but the correlation to the trade in value you get for your existing car is similar atleast. But I like the transparent price hike vs dealer bullshit add ons.

Rumor is the fire was caused by a car battery cook-off. Several johnny-come-lately battery carmakers have had severe issues with this problem. (Chevy Volt, anyone?) This never happened to Tesla, though there were a few fires after crashes in the early days.

I'm not surprised the limited crew of a freighter didn't know what to do and lost the ship. We used to carry sonobuoys with Lithium Batteries on P-3s to hunt subs. The solution for cookoff was to put on your special Kevlar Gloves, open the main cabin door, and toss the damn thing into the sea. Fuckers would burn right through the side of the aircraft.

Guess the Russians found a use for the ammo they were exporting to the States before Joe's import restriction.

It is my understanding that a lot of "Russian" ammo was exported to US from Kazakhstan and other former USSR countries. Just like vodka.

You could sell again for a nice profit.

Let's see, 20% per week is 1.2 ^ 52 = 13,104 times your investment in one year.

I prefer safety and peace of mind in having plenty ammo at home and we have taken to target shooting at farm as well.
I wonder if ammo companies stocks are good buys these days. I've made it like bandit with my Exxon stock since war started.

I was going to head to my local range today but they are advertising $1.31/115g 9mm.

Guess I'll stay home and work on taxes instead.

I'm not digging into my stash.

Heard today at Convenience Store --- Indian owner was complaining his son is now paying $20k for a container from India and can't make a profit selling gimgaws to Etsy/Flea Market sellers. Two years ago it was $4000 for a container. Now it's $20k but not door to door, it's Port to Port only.

My wife was looking for MAC makeup products at the store today, store was mostly out. She was told eye-liner has been out for months, apparently the products come from France, so their all sitting in shipping containers off the coast.

It must be the direction, because the price of shipping a car from US to Europe went up only 50% - from $800 to $1200. They fit 3 cars per container, so $3600 per container RIGHT NOW.

That's why I prefer to shoot 117's from an airgun in the back yard. Ammo is still really cheap and I don't have to visit a range.

After firing unvaccinated workers, Hershey's says it can't make enough candy for Halloween – blames Putin

According to reports, The Hershey Company is facing "capacity constraints" that will greatly reduce the output of candy in the coming months, resulting in demand exceeding supply. And get this: Hershey's is blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for its self-induced problems. Earlier in the year, you may recall, Hershey's fired all of its unvaccinated employees, which created a worker shortage. Now, company CEO Michele Buck wants to blame Putin, "supply chain issues," and everything else other than herself for Hershey's going down the tubes. Buck made these and other false accusations against others for her company's fate during a recent quarterly earnings call with investors. In a nutshell, Hershey's will not have the capacity to maintain output in anticipation of its busiest holiday because it previously engaged in medical fascism against its un-jabbed employees. "We had a strategy of prioritizing everyday, on-shelf availability," Buck stated during the call, explaining that the company uses the same equipment to produce both everyday and specialty holiday items. (Related: Remember when Hershey's was caught engaging in illegal price fixing?) "It was a tough decision to balance that with the seasons, but we thought that was really important. And so that was a choice that we needed to make. We had [an] opportunity to deliver more Halloween [candy], but we weren't able to supply that."

How is it Russia's fault that Hershey's fired all of its unvaccinated employees?
Consumer engagement with Hershey's, all things considered, is expected to remain high, according to Buck. The problem is that the company no longer has the capacity to deliver, thanks to the unvaccinated employees it "separated from the company." From now on, Buck indicated, Hershey's "will not be able to fully meet consumer demand due to capacity restraints" – a deflective way of admitting that she and others in the executive leadership team at Hershey's screwed up big time. Buck expects "high single-digit growth" for Hershey's during Halloween and Christmas, which she says she feels "really good about." Perhaps there will even be more capacity during that time, she hinted. Is Hershey's planning to hire more workers to meet demand? Or perhaps a better way of wording that question is: Will Hershey's be able to find anyone who isn't already sick and dying from Fauci Flu shots who is willing to work for the company going into the holiday season? Buck seems to think this might happen, all while she shifts the blame onto Putin and the "Russian invasion" for her company's decline. "I think generally we continue to see struggles across the supply chain," Buck stated. "We're now starting to see bigger concerns relative to scarcity of ingredients needing to leverage different suppliers at higher cost and price points in order to secure production." A whopping 10 percent of annual sales at Hershey's occur during the Halloween season. If the company is unable to meet demand – which seems likely – then it will face a major revenue hit, which is certainly of interest to shareholders. "This is the same company that about 15 years ago almost shut down because it couldn't figure out how to put in a new enterprise system (SAP)," wrote a commenter at The Epoch Times. "I'm sure that Nestlé and Mars will figure out how to take advantage of this company's incompetence." Another wrote that because Hershey's fired its unvaccinated employees in a demonstration of medical tyranny, consumers should do the same by firing Hershey's and not buying any more of its products.
