I'm curious about the camera panning. Do the Nest cameras do that automatically? I can see it panning for the action, but the zooming in on the rubble and aftermath like that, and zooming and out and panning different perspectives. Who was up at 1am randomly looking down the street, and had the joystick ready to follow the action? I would like to know the story behind that video..

The article said a bystander was killed by the falling debris. The bystander was knocked 20 yards by the speeding car. I think he was dead before the debris fell on him.

I think he was trying to knock them out, but you've got to land just perfect on the opponents head. Where as a full knuckle too the nose will make them think different of it too.

It's not clear what made him draw his gun. The man in the back drew up his arms at the same time the man that fired a weapon got up. It could be interpreted as a defensive gesture. I am not certain that the guy in the black and white coat actually had a weapon.
The gun may have been blanks as well. I don't see how he could have missed either, and I'm playing it back at 1/4 speed.

One suspect in an attempted armed robbery in East Hartford is dead after a store owner who was shot during the ordeal shot back, according to police.
Police said two people wearing black ski masks went into Humble & Paid Co. at 1285 Main St. just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday, intending to rob the business.
The store owner struggled with one of the suspects, who pulled out a firearm and the suspect shot the owner in the back, police said.
The owner returned fire with two of his legally registered firearms, striking one of the suspects several times, according to police.
Officers who responded treated the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jashar Haslam of Hartford, until the East Hartford Fire Department arrived and the suspect was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The owner was also treated at the scene for a gunshot wound to the lower back and was transported to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
The other suspect remains at large and ran out of the building during the initial struggle, police said.
