Jesus H Christ. Golliwag dolls are the West Indies version of Raggedy Ann. They are Black because the people who sew them are Black. Saying a Golliwog is racist against Blacks is like saying Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy are racist against Irish people. Golliwogs have been around and like a teddy bear for kids for a century. The British adopted Golliwogs from the West Indies like they adopted tea and khaki from India.

Note the nickname "Andy" which could be short for "Aindréas" and not just "Andrew."
