You do NOT need to consent to having your photo taken when boarding a plane

Just tell them "No, I do not want to have my photo taken."

The TSA has to let you on anyway, though they get a little pissy.

Yes, I've done it four or five times now. They just say OK and don't block you.

Only been asked for a photo in customs upon return. I am TSA-pre though for domestic. Never have I been asked. I also only use a passport for ID for any flight. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I have to do everything by the books with a black nephew traveling with us that we don't have guardianship over. We just do everything for him (eye roll). Wouldn't change it but travel is soooooo much easier with the wife and I. Throw the kids in and we're instantly profiled as child sex traffickers. They ask him a dozen questions and we have to step aside. So we just get a notarized letter now from his mom and his dad, if he's out of prison at the time. Pain in the ass.

Not gonna mention my wife's name, but it's hilarious when they ask who are you with. Autie XXXX and Uncle Tom. I'm proud to be an uncle Tom.

I flew from San Jose California on October 15 and it's true, I think they took my picture as I was boarding.
My memory is dim because it was a morning flight.
I didn't know why.

In most airports TSA takes a photo, has nothing to do with precheck or not, you probably don't notice it cause it happens quickly right where they check your id/passport before they let you go through the checkpoint.

They often tell you to look into the camera. Just say "no thank you" and step to the side.

I fly almost once a month. It must be a CA thing. I hand them my passport and go on my way. I'm usually wrangling the kids so there's no chance they secretly did it. I'm extremely impatient even though it only takes me 2-3 minutes to get through even with the carry on scans. I will be an ass hole.

I do agree with photos at customs though. I've just never had TSA take a photo of me though 100%. They look at the passport and hand it back. Usually I'm fumbling around with the kids passports and helping with carry on on the security belt. Flew 2 weeks ago. Nothing.

Only other place is St. Thomas because it's a territory and the first line of defense is customs then TSA. Nothing at TSA though.

Are there other cameras scanning you, hell yes. But I've never been asked for a photo.

Actually there's got a be a TSA agent lurker here. Tell me if I'm wrong. My evidence is anecdotal, but it hasn't happened to me. I'm also an ass hole and hold grudges if I'm on vacation. So maybe I scare them? Not an ego thing. I pay them via the ticket and federal income taxes. They can get fucked. I have a clean record. Been photo'd by the Feds and finger printed.

Traveling with a black kid makes your skin thick and I have no issue telling people and employees to eat shit and die. Sorry, on a bit of a rant with a 2nd comment.

Interesting. Because you don't have a legal expectation of privacy in those situations, pretty much.

This morning a TSA agent tried to bully me into getting my photo taken after I tried to opt-out of the facial recognition software that TSA is trying to implement.

Apparently it’s the norm now to get your photo taken on top of giving TSA your ID every time you want to get on a flight.

To add insult to injury, 2 illegals went through TSA right before me and didn’t have to undergo facial recognition.

Your daily reminder that we shouldn’t even have to be opting out of this and forcing Americans into facial recognition before getting on a flight isn’t normal!

Bull shit video. Not true. Clickbait. She got you.

You guys need to travel more. Not sure where you're traveling but between the ID thread and this one, it appears no one has left their home.
