Is the site faster now?

By Patrick   2012 Oct 22, 10:07am   1,209 views   5 comments   watch (0)   quote

I wasted most of today on performance tweaks to the site, minimizing the number of database calls.

Was it worth it? Is the site noticably faster?

Any other suggestions for improvement?

One difference seems to be, when I look at the home page, where each thread with comments used to say "[Username] says" now some say only "says". It might be faster but I always thought the site was fast enough.

Doh! Thanks for telling me. Trying to fix it now.

Please tell me about other problems too.

War says

The "next page" link on the real estate forum leads to an empty page.

OK, fixed now.

Anything else borken, or could be better?

(Yes, I meant "borken". In Unixland something is either borken or it wroks.)
