Election rhetoric shuns the big picture in favor of the bigger platitude. Now that The Show is over, we are left with the equivalent of a Sunday morning hangover following a binge of promises and lies. We leave the theatre of political spectacle on steroids for the real world of unstable economy, a globally and publicly subsidized financial sector, and increased costs of living on everything from food to education to health-care; outpacing declining median incomes.

Iwog, and the usuals will be along shortly to defend Obama, and flame you for stating the Obvious. I don't get how they get bent out of shape when people observe the state of affairs, they take it personally as an all out assault on Obama.

But then when some notable blogger or journalist states the exact same thing, they are deafeningly silent.

Along with the insurance company apologists (zzzx, abe, shrek, george) who insist that if all the pesky rules hindering corporations were removed life would be grand.
