It isn't actually a tax on how fat people are, but on the fat in food... Read carefully (I know someone will misunderstand)

The article could have said

The World's First Fat Tax... Right Wingers levy it!

"The new tax, designed by Denmark’s outgoing government ..."

"The right-wing government that decided on the tax was superceded by a centre-left administration in elections last month. "

Spiteful Right Wingers.

Live free or diet!

I don't know much about Denmark's politics, but generally right-wingers in Europe would be called moderates or RINOs in the US.

Most of what I know about Denmark's politics came from that story and that story didn't even name the two parties -- just "right wing" and "centre-left".

But it sure looks like the losers couldn't just STFU and instead decided to throw a stinkbomb into the winner's new term.

Or, to quote one political concession speech:

The people have spoken -- the bastards!

Flat Tax is very widely common with Eastern European nations.

No. Right-wingers in continental Europe are often big government fascists.

The left-wingers in Europe and the US are utopians whose policies are unworkable and eventually get pushed aside by fascists in their own ranks after attaining power.

What's called "right-wing" in the US are composed of two very different camps:

(1) the big government fascists just like in Europe

(2) those who object to big government; what used to be called classical liberals and voted with the Left before the FDR administration copying Italian Fascist policies.

Is the claim behind this concept, better health for their population? Because as we all know, fats are not only good for you but essential food for the brain. If a government were to levy a tax on a consumable in the name of "helping" the populace, shouldnt they ban sugar, or at least lay heavy taxes on all sugars?

Read somewhere that beverages are now a much higher source of daily calorie intake than they were in previous times. Those calories are almost wholly from sugar/HFCS, not fats.
