Car repair = money, same thing, world's oldest profession. They hook for home repairs as well.

looking through an amoral lens, this seems like a perfectly natural barter. You know, the free market working unimpeded by any legal or moral rules. Maybe it's the natural tendency of the world, but I don't think it's a path to utopia.

Also: Anyone know how to fix a timing chain on a land rover?

Yes

FYI the engine uses a belt, not a chain. Its an interference engine as well.

That lady had better be damn open minded!

What's immoral about consensual, non-abusive prostitution? Sure they may be pragmatic concerns, but what exactly is immoral about selling sexual acts?

Prostitution should be legalized and de-stigmatized.

The right of women (and men) to use their bodies in commerce should not be infringed.

Perhaps her inner goddess envisioned belts and chains in the exchange.

I never said anything was immoral. Read what I said again: "looking through an amoral lens"

That or she took some liberties describing herself:

Come on, we laughed at those Hitler "Downfall" parodies on Youtube.

Even though we all hate Hitler and everything he stands for.

This one if particularly pertinent:

Considering what strippers make, I think they make the men patronize them look like fools. I respect strippers quite a bit for being able to make so much money without having to go to college or trade school.

They don't want or need your respect. You couldn't be more obviously, typically, disrespectful towards woman and be your usual hateful disingenuousness self. You are a philistine.

One would hope. You might make the deal over the phone and have her hot friend show you the car. One the repair is done - SURPRISE!!

I dated a stripper once briefly, she was saving for law school tuition. One of the hottest and nicest girls I ever dated. Much respect for them.

There is nothing immoral about prostitution. It is wrong only if the women were forced into the business. Once it is legalized, the criminal elements surround prostitution will disappear and the world will be much better.

Maybe this is where we need to find a stripper and use the Invite an expert to fact-check this option.

Way to take one data point about some hooker in Phoenix and extrapolate to all women. I've noticed that patrick.net is nearly all middle-aged men and you constantly reinforce your erroneous opinions about women (and many other subjects) by preaching to the choir.

I can assure you (I'm a woman) that the vast majority of us are not going to screw anyone to get a car fixed. I literally rolled my eyes when I read this post.

I am one of those 40 something divorcee moms you men love to rag on here (oh, I forgot, I should be sad and lonely at home and wishing for some fat loser husband). In fact, I have a good job and support myself, have 3 boyfriends and am really happy with life. All I can say is that I am doing things exactly as I please and though I really did wish my marriage had worked, it didn't and I moved on with life. Sorry to burst your collective bubble about how women are supposed to be.

I don't blame this enterprising woman for trying to get something for nothing. If she's banging all kinds of random guys in her day to day, what's one more. She's likely to encounter a scammer or some dude wanting to be her boyfriend instead of what she proposes.

Why does that matter? You said yourself that you don't blame her, so why do you try to make the point that she is the utter exception? Who cares, no judgement is placed.

That's cool. I don't think anybody raged on divorcees, it was more about divorce laws.

I don't have one, that was 10 years ago and we lost touch. 5'11, killer body (athletic), olive complexion skin, medium long brown/auburn hair, pretty face and eyes, moves like Jagger, medium (handful) cup size, maybe a bit bigger since my hands are big as well ;) She wanted to get them augmented which I thought was totally unnecessary. Hope she is doing great, achieved all her career goals and leads a happy life :)

Good for you. All most are saying here is do it on your own dime. Once the marraige breaks, since this is the age of equality-you earn your own money and live on your own funds-then have 3 boyfriends or 30-who cares??? But taking money from your ex husband and using it to get a boytoy-is preposterous and those laws need to change. Also as a parent, half the responsibility for the child is yours-the other half is the husband and he can pay for half rent or half food or some such combination-but the current law is just bizarre.

But that is typical modern pseudo feminism-anytime men ask women to be responsible for their own choices, they are labelled as misogynist. Nope-you wanted equality and you got it and now quit trying to have the best of both worlds.

I wonder how many divorce-initiators enter their marriages in bad faith.

I don't need my patron's respect, just their bling.

Hey, a guy's gotta supplement his income someway.

A whore is a person who puts a price on service some might consider priceless.

One of my favorite architects, Philip Johnson, famously called himself a whore.

Whoever commissions buildings, buys me. I'm for sale. I'm a whore. I'm an artist.

Hence "whore" is just a label. In the end, it is all art and commerce.

For the most part, I've found the posters here to be your typical person. Both male/female, etc. Sure, there are some sexist comments, but most of the men here are probably very nice people. They just let their inner child out and make some stupid comments.

I'm glad your life is on track. :)

When you speak you are not speaking for all woman. It is unacceptable behavior.

12x3:
I do speak for all "woman." (that's me). If you mean that I don't speak for all "women," you're correct. Just as you don't speak for everyone - just yourself. And you certainly don't speak correctly. Not even close.

Might I suggest that you place those people on "ignore" that you don't like? From your posts, it appears that it would be a very long list.
