Lower income towns in NJ have been consistently going down and never turned the corner.
Same thing around here, except I would have said "neighborhoods" instead of "towns".
Should his writings not be preserved for posterity? How can we learn from history when we erase it.
NSA has them.
He was not banned. He left voluntarily and asked me to delete all his threads and comments, which I did.
I wonder if he was getting too addicted. Hey, it happens.
Bingo!
110 for days on end sucks. Taking it out on Internet randoms makes life even worse I'd imagine.
he's changed his name to thankshousingbubble, and his alias is egads101.
and his address to Hermosa Beach, CA. Why the change of address, and why does the alias have an age of 3?
Don't know. Look at the threads. All the titles are changed, but they are Roberto threads. You'll notice that some show a location in Scottsdale as well.
If egads101 is Roberto I'm concerned for his well being. His comments make me think he's suffering from extreme heat delirium or maybe excessive scorpion venom.
Maybe both.
Wait a minute - I get it now.
Roberto is founding a new religion! The Oracle of Housing
He'll put his rentals into a trust which will "donate" all the profits to his holiness The Housing Oracle. Put on some robes, make some crazy talk and whamo you have the best tax shelter ever!
Well 1995 had a massive internet boom that lifted all boats. Maybe some new industry will come along-but until then it is just speculation and easy money.
How did the internet boom help North Carolina? Georgia?
RTP in NC has tech industry, including Cisco and others. Georgia had Scientific Atlanta, also ultimately bought by Cisco. So the internet boom did have ripples outside of SFBA.
Come on over to the East Coast, I'll show you plenty of markets that not only have stayed down after the crash, but are continuing down.... there's plenty to choose from!!
Not to be super picky, but nearly every one of your examples has an uptick on the end. Also, it's indicative of house price and not necessarily reflective of how sales are doing. Ya know, if housing prices were inflated and have since "corrected," using former prices versus current prices as an economic gauge will show a lack of recovery every time.
But then again, I was told there'd be no math after hs...
He probably should have joined with an alias. Being a govt employee and having a trail of argumentative threads cannot be that good. Some idjit might forward his posting history to some other idjit in the college and things can get dicey.
But I will miss his postings-he had skin in the game and was talking from experience. Now that I have moved to a dirt cheap location am really thinking of possibly buying a property or two for renting. Though here prices don't shoot up and you are repsonsible for snow removal etc.
I think Bob had a nervous breakdown. His posts were getting more and more bizarre. It was almost like his account was hacked or something.
His rants and weird mood swings made me think he must be bipolar. People who are bipolar can have really down times and if they don't take medication, can really act strangely. Maybe that explains his bad ratings. I don't think he is a good teacher, based on what I've read.
I found a Poem on the internet for Mr. Roberto.
It had no author mentioned that I saw, simply
'Poems of the Soul'
Superegos really believe
They're holier than thou
They always know right
They always know just
They've always been
The voice
That tells you 'Do the right thing'
A Superego
Hears no evil
Sees no evil
Speaks no evil
Condemns all crimes
Drives all guilt
Wears it's halo proudly
And
They're so
Shiny perfect
Under the sun
Compared to us
heh, well Roberto does teach at a community college. Students always love to google their teacher's names. I'm willing to bet that one student read a bunch of threads and was heavily amused by his teacher acting like a jackass on the internet.
I think Bob had a nervous breakdown.
Then "be a man" and delete your link.
That's what I did and I am grateful to Goran for deleting his quote of my link.
It won't matter. Once on the Net - forever on the Net.

Metadata don't phase me. We ain't in no 1937 soviet union.

or, some son of a bitch from this site called his school, and said he had a gun with him... causing security to come to his office, and have a nice chat with him.
they found such dangerous things on him as home made vegetarian bean stew, and herbal tea.
Just so you know, a terrorist threat at an educational institution is a felony, and the police have contacted the fbi.
@The Professor please delete all threads that link to identifiable places for him above, since this is your posting.

Wow. If someone did do this to Roberto, that's pretty messed up. You could ruin someone's life.
One of the reasons I try to keep my personal details very generic and offline for the most part. Too many crazies on the internet.

... but the thing which did him in was that toilet plunger he always carried concealed.

I doubt it was a someone. It was something called Google. Doing what he did under his real name was quite idiotic.
that is scary. It is best to be anonymous on the internet. who knows what crazies are out there?

That's been my policy for over 10 years. I keep it anonymous, generic, and easy to hide.
If that's true, that's about as low as it gets.
I didn't agree nor disagree with his posts, they were what they were, people who were offended by his boasts of his ability to flip houses need to get a life.
Though I would fault him for falling for the biggest sham the internet has pulled on the American public. Since the beginning of the internet the number one most important rule everyone was advised to follow was... "Always stay anonymous, never give out any personal information, not even your name."
I can't imagine why any intelligent person would ever either register to a website that required personal information that made public, or register on a site with their real name, or talk about where they work.
There are just too many bastards and shit heads out there, like the Asshole that would fuck with Roberts shit like that.
Unless his school just did their own investigation and found him and his discourse here on Patnet. In which case I would say, you did it to your self.
Any of you scratching your head wondering what in the hell I'm talking about need to read the article I posted in the misc board titled. "are you not entertained!?!?!?"
That's one of the worst part of the internet, people act like absolute animals because of the anonymity. They can terrorize someone from the comfort of their computer chair, typing away furiously, as they try and ruin someone's life.
Giving away all of your personal details (or even just a little) just gives them that amount of leverage to be a thorn in your side in real life.
I'm not so sure the person who did it was from here. I read the class reviews and there were a lot of angry students.
The person who said he had a gun may have been someone who got a bad grade.
Most young people don't realize calling in a threat like that is very serious. The FBI can tell what phone number was used to call in the threat from and can trace the person.
It is hard to get away with those types of threats anymore.
The NSA is listening everywhere.
What if they called from a public pay phone? They could call it in, and just disappear. So I think there is still a lot of anonymity with committing that type of crime.
There are cameras everywhere now. It is easier to trace someone than ever before.

I guess someone got tired of your rudeness roberto. karma is a bitch isn't it?
I've seen the camera quality, it's really shitty these days. In L.A, 90% of hit and run cases go unsolved even with video of the incident simply because they can't even identify the car because the video is so grainy and low resolution.
Can you imagine trying to get details on someone's face?
When Bob finds out it was one of his former students that did it, he'll be back.
I guess I've watched too many episodes of CSI, where there were bank atm cameras or store cameras that showed someone making a payphone call, etc.
All the FBI has to do is see who had failed grades in the last semester, find out who lives near the area the call came from, then interview those students and ask what they were doing during the time of the call.
Whoever doesn't have an alibi is the person that made the threat. Very easy.
I don't know. That someone posted details about it here under an anon account, makes me think it was someone from here.
Unless there is someone on patnet who works or is a student at Roberto's college?

Not justifying the call, in fact it's pretty scum bag. But if Roberto was polite and didn't insult and name call other commentators, would this even had happen? What is the saying, "Don't Sh*t where you eat."

It is obviously Roberta's ghost threatening his enemies with FBI investigation from beyond the grave.

Not enough to convict. You read too much Agatha Christie.
I used to love watching CSI Miami about 2 years ago. The type of stuff they are able to pull off in the crime lab is mythical stuff. Like one time they had this muffled 5 second cell phone call of a 911 call of a murder victim. The killer somehow is smart enough to stomp out the phone so it can't be tracked. Yet, magically, the CSI lab is able to take a one track muffled phone call and turn it into HD, crystal clear, multi-track recordings with the victim, killer's voice, and the background noise from the neighborhood where they detect a "faint" train sound that helps them identify what neighborhood everything happened in. They also used the voice match to catch the killer. There's obviously a lot of liberties taken with that show.

That's my take. Very shitty thing to do, but it's not like Roberto wasn't practically asking for it with the way he interacted with people here. I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner, the guy claims he's been posting here for 4 years.
the show Bones was the same way. Amazing what she was able to tell from studying the bones.
If the news is broadcasting a video of a crime, then it usually means the video is so bad, they are trying to get the public's help. Hoping that someone recognizes the black hoodie, the white shirt and baggy pants.
The one that gets me is tall thin black guy with long dreads and a baseball hat, and long shorts down to his knees. His skin is usually so dark in the video, all you see is his silhouette. I think it must be the same guy committing 90 percent of all crimes committed in America caught on video.

Better moderation would've saved Roberta from herself.
