Mill XYers should start staking out turf just in case Mom gets really mad at them.

A few of the giant ants from the movie "Them!" will clear them out in a jiff.

The encampments around Adobe survive on the half eaten bagels, old ipads, and bicycles tossed over the Adobe campus fence.

That's a lot of well located but undeveloped land. Why isn't it covered in yuppie condos by now?

Why can't they go to Detroit and live in real houses?
Just send all the homeless up there and we solve two problems. The homeless problem, and the Detroit vacant home problem.

Two reasons, brutal midwestern winters, and second, lots of random gun fire.

SV, in contrast, is the deadest suburbia out there. No culture, just office workers and their strip malls, but with a temperate climate.

They would rather be homeless in SV, then live in Detroit. Wow.
This tells me the future is in California, no one wants to leave.

Where else can you bask in the sunshine of the Internet Gods and Sand Hill Road venture capitalists by day while listening to the demented Bedlam of your campsite inmates at night.

They are probably entry level engineers from bad schools.

The voting citizens don't want the traffic which goes with new development, house owners want to preserve the value of their "investment", landlords don't want downward pressure on rents, and the government is beholden to those special interests.

I looked at the map and it's obvious that Adobe causes homelessness.

Ironic, Adobe means

1: a brick or building material of sun-dried earth and straw
2: a structure made of adobe bricks

Seems appropriate for the San Francisco homeless.

Well which is better, being inside a modest but otherwise warm and cozy home wrapped up in a blanket next to a small fire on a brutally cold winter night or standing outside in a freezing rain? We DO get those occasionally.

As for gunfire that is just a matter of time. San Jose has dramatically cut back on its police force and it's showing.

It's just a matter of time before San Jose becomes South Oakland.

Now, now, now, didn't we recently have a discussion about Oakland? Oh yeah, now I remember, we did and the consensus was that Oakland pretty much did suck. Never mind.

The last time I was in Palo Alto, I noticed a number of homeless in the park.

We here in Detroit have a better idea - we tear down the abandoned houses and send all the drunks, druggies and squatters to California. The weather is so nice there, who needs a house anyway? Hell, with the drought, they won't even need umbrellas.

I guessed it. :-(

So the entire city is being torn down and relocating to California?

That explains Oakland.

The pictures in the Businessinsider link above show the benefits of free trade with 3rd world countries while the people in Washington that orchestrate this shit live the opposite lifestyle.
