Not only do organophosphates disrupt the neurons in the body, but they also wreak havoc on the endocrine system. In time, exposure to these chemicals reduces testosterone levels, eliciting femininity in males. Male fertility may be destroyed altogether.

Using the pesticide data maps, researchers overlaid addresses of about 1,000 participants in a Childhood Autism Risks from Genetics and Environment study — a population-based, case-control study of children ages 2-5 with autism, developmental delay and typical development. The study area primarily was within a two-hour drive of Sacramento.
About one-third of the mothers in the study lived within 1.5 kilometers — just under a mile — of an agricultural pesticide application when they were pregnant, the researchers said.

The risk of autism decreased the farther the pregnant women lived from where pesticides were sprayed, the report said.

OMG... For a second I thought that maybe, just maybe this would have been one of the only posts made by the OP that wasn't ridiculous. At first it appeared as an honest concern over pesticides and the people who live near those spray areas. But no- you just HAD to mention something about "gays".

Look- like it or not gay and lesbian Americans are getting more and more of their rights realized and this will continue. There is nothing that anyone on the right can do about it especially since their rights are a constitutionally recognized right.

This isn't even an argument anymore. American values triumphs again.

In this matter there are no party lines. Fox has been recently promoting organic advocates (albeit not very scientific ones) while some left-leaning scientists side with GMOs and pesticides, it's all over the map. If you watched the corporation, one of the bigger scandals researched was taken on by former FOX reporters (Akre et. al)- unfortunately they eventually got fired after the station bowed to pressure from Monsanto ;)

I take offense to comments that are in my opinion offensive to other Americans who are no different that you or me, who are entitled to the same rights, and are protected by the constitution to have those rights. As I have mentioned before I had two Grandfathers, basically all of my Uncles, and a many others in my family who fought in WW2 to defend the country against other countries who at that time were taking away the freedoms of millions upon millions of people. My relatives made tremendous sacrifices for not only my cause, but everyone else in this country.

So yes- I do in fact take offense when I see other people make comments that are offensive in regards to the rights of other US citizens because to me that is an insult to the service of my aforementioned family members.

So I have a suggestion: You are free and totally allowed to say and type what you want. That is part of what living in the US is about. But at the same time if you mention something offensive then don't be surprised if someone like me calls it out.

So there is your answer. So my suggestion is if you want to draw attention to a story like this- which is a legitimate concern in regards to pesticides- then great. But if you want to perhaps have a more reasonable, intelligent, and thought-provoking discussion, of which I'm always game for, then how about leaving some of that offensive material out of the discussion, especially when a comment such as that has NOTHING to do with the topic to start with?

For the longest time, I read about Pesticides. The male fish in the Potomac River all had eggs for a time, and due to PCBs. Google this.

So after a while, the question becomes - do hormone altering chemicals cause cancer, and it is responsible for the ratio of male babies going down in some places.

Does in Estrogenize males in vivo? Can it actually change the sex of the embryo?

With SF having so many PCBs, used in Semiconductor and in the past on Agriculture - is this causing autism, gender changes, cancers????

You could argue that the constitution allows for liverty and freedom to pursue happiness. So answer me this very simple question: let's say that starting tomorrow, any state in the union can suddenly turn around and proclaim that my marriage is now illegal? For your own convenience I pasted section 1 of the 14th amendment above. Your lame argument is that it doesn't SPECIFICALLY state anything about marriage equality. I assume you are capable of reading English and therefore it should be crystal clear when you read the part that states:

"No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

But just in case this is befuddling to anyone out there, what exactly does the term "Citizen" mean? Why... it means that anyone who happens to be a US CITIZEN- as in a very all-inclusive term meant to describe anyone who is legally entitled to the rights underlined in the 14th amendment only has to have one qualification, and that single qualification is that they need to be a US citizen. That means everyone.

So in that case, please explain the confusion over this because I assume most people would "get it"...

Note that the actual UC Davis study says nothing about the gays.

What does it mean? Just because a male might elicit femininity doesn't automatically mean that they are gay. In other words you are simply creating your own definitions to try and make a point... if you actually had one.
